Hello All,
I have a clicking sound coming from the right rear. My initial thought is that it was the traction lock. I think it sounds like it is located out closer to the wheel though. I have not found any items that appear to be rubbing. The click is speed sensitive up to 25 mph or so. Then the sound either quits or it is drowned out by road noise.
I am taking the MM to my ford dealer later in the week to have a EGR valve installed under warranty. I am compiling a list of all my little issues for them to check out while I am there.
Has anyone compiled a list of common issues found?
I will appreciate any comments or ideas.
Thanks

Well I took my Rear apart to install my gears last week and the only things that can possibly rub and make a noise would be the Parking Brake Spring inside the Rotor drum, the ABS Magnetic Pickup may be bent and clicking on the Axle cog, Could be as simple as a Rock in the Tire! Also check the Gods Head Center Cap, Mine spins and is a little loose in the rim, I hear a slight Click out of that. Good Luck on taking care of that. Noises Can drive you nuts!!

A "clicking" noise is kind of sketchy to work with, best to try and rule out what it shouldn't be?
Traction-Lok stuff usually shows up when you apply torque in medium to hard acceleration, and you would probably call it a "clunk" more than a "click."
From what else you say about it, I'm thinking something along the lines of a dragging, or, lazy parking brake, or, maybe the cable is rubbing on something?
Let us know?

When i had a clickin noise in my rear it turned to be 3 teeth broken off the ring gear due to improper installation..

Could be a stone in your tire too - that's always annoying :)

I have the same thing, but coming from the left rear. Only at slow speeds. I notice it when I'm going up or down the ramp in the garage at work.

Thank you to those who replied.
I have looked at the majority of your ideas with the exception of inside the diff. I would think that if it was inside it would sound muffled from the oil and just having the barrier of being inside. I plan a gear swap sometime this summer so I can slide in at the end of my warranty and still have them take a look at the axles. The root of the noise is bound to be right in front of my face. I will keep looking and keep everyone posted.
Thanks again!!

Had that problem in the left rear, it was the parking brake linkage inside the drum/rotor. when i applied the parking brake and then it releases on its own when i put the car in gear the assembly was still **** eyed and caused the clicking sound. Took it apart and cleaned and lubed the moving parts and it never happened again. Hope that is all yours is good luck.

Thanks, that could be it. I hope you're correct.
