Mark - I think I will stick with conventional tires. :D

Living in Wisconsin, my first thought is how smooth will that tire be with a couple pounds of ice stuck in one side.
Can you say "Thump, Thump, Thump"!!

I don't like the look of the spokes.....plus there are no provisions for mounting old baseball cards near the 'tweels'.... :D

I'd rather have a set of caterpillar treads on my car.
nada chance, I wouldn't put those on anyone's car, except maybe a ricer :D

Do the come in Run flats!??-interesting idea but they will
need sidewalls to keep crap out!! Hey I'm tired of leaking alloy
rims...and The LO/Pro's will really be just a rubber band!!:D

Let's ask BillyGMan to tear up a set for the next burnout contest.

If they perform the same, costs the same,
and you can't tell the difference in the ride, why not ??? :dunno:

No thanks, I have a gravel driveway and like playing in the dirt too much.

They might look good on a Honda Civic or Scion Xb !! Not to my taste ... I wouldn't like the look of them on a Marauder at all. But they may have some utility in the true off-road role or in military applications.

Nope. Get them down to -40 or -50, and they'd probabally shatter like glass. I used to have similar wheels on my mountain bike years back, and that's exactally what happened when I tried to ride my bike one winter's day. Square wheels don't cut it ;)

But wait guys, what if they perform better and are cheaper to manufacture? Remembering it's the marketplace that determines what we, as consumers, are offered, sometime in the future, this, or some derivitave may be our only choice. I wonder if they just glue or attach new rubber onto the spokes, and re-use the things? I agree, though, they are ugly as sin, at least in this configuration. Ah, progress! :P

If they came out with a hybrid tire that had these internals, as well as sidewalls, then I might be interested. That way you could adjust the air pressure to tune the ride.
My biggest concern with these would be the rotating mass of the tire itself. All of those plastic fins between the wheel and rubber portion of the tire need to weigh the same as regular sidewalls and the compressed air in the tires to be competitive.

I'll take 'em only if I can have some bling bling on them.:poke:

Seems to me they'd be perfect for those high-speed chases they love so much in L.A. Run right over those Highway Patrol tire slashers with no problem!
