Whats the better of the two:
DiabloSport or Superchips ?
No previous Mods yet.
I realize there are varying opinions and all, but I would like to hear them.
Thanks

I have a Superchips Microtuner right now. I don't want to blatantly void my warranty. After the warranty is gone, I'll probably get a chip.

It ain't about the method/software....it's about who's "behind the keyboard" that makes one better than the other. In other words...you can get a great tune using either method...it just depends on who wrote the tune.....

So who writes the better tune, Superchips or Diablo ?
Depends on who you buy it from.....

You can buy an excellent Superchips Tune through Lidio (probably one of the best tuners in the biz) with his Marauder Program loaded.... or here in Atlanta, we have Aric Carrion (another one who'd rank up there as one of the best) who, like Lidio will custom Dyno-tune your car/program per your specific needs/instructions.

There are several threads here of guys getting some great tunes out of the Diablo-Boys, specifically on the ProCharged Marauders....

It just depends who you buy it from.

This is true! Probably the best advice this thread will get.

Some love Superchips, even more so when you get Lidio behind the tune. I've heard nothing but good things about superchips. But I am a Diablosport fan, and I have never tried Superchips. I have the Diablosport Predator Tuner and I got a tune from Scott Beer @ Diablosport to override the factory "Diablotune" and I couldn't be any happier. The stock Diablotune is great but Scott has been playing around with a few Marauders in florida lately and he found some ways to pull a couple extra ponies out of them verses the stock Diablotune. He also set it so my transmission does not shift into O/D until 50 MPH which is awesome, no more dull lag at 35 MPH around town without having O/D manually off.

To each his own, I say Search this topic but you'll never find a lot of threads about Diablosport unless they are really old in which case it was the Diablosport Chip from back in ye' old days which not too many people liked.

From this consumer's perspective, I love what Diablosport did to my truck and now to my Marauder, I would never consider any other brand :twocents:

My head already hurts.
So when you buy a Superchips or diablesport you have to have tuner do the program as well ? Man oh man. I live in McKinney, TX, I doubt anyone out here will be able to fix me up.
Besides I wont be home for another two weeks.
So far I have not been impressed with the "StreetRod" scene out here. My painter and my upholsterer are pretty, how should I put it....not very focused.
So I'm getting pretty bumbed on the abilities of aftermarket services in the area.

My head already hurts.

Here's your "aspirin"....

Pick up your phone tomorrow...

Call Lidio @ Alternative Auto Performance Phone: 586.463.0010...

Tell him you have stock Marauder that you'd like a little more "umph" from....

Give him your credit card #....

Wait for the UPS to come....

Install your tune and enjoy.....

Better now?

The Latest from SCT has more data logging capabilities. That may come later after you have lots of mods.:D I have Lidios tune, it is a pleasure to drive. My tune does not stay out of overdrive till 50 mph like Rider 90's.
It is well mannered at light throtle and gets agressive at half throttle or better.
I left a toll booth this past weekend and got a sqawk shifting 1-2 @ half pedal that put a smile on my face. Hurry and get your Meds^^

Good advice Todd. Proven to be pain free.

"Who's better" is the tuner that gets the best performance from your Marauder. How far you have to travel to find them, how accessible they are to you once you get there, and how much you pay, are all better questions to ask today, because the technology is almost identical. There are no secrets, just opposing philosophies on how to get something done...IMHO.

Who is ahead right now ?

Dennis posted a few weeks ago on this topic .
He claimed the SCT had more abilities and parameters(faster) than Diablo.

Great points Mac,there are Two revisions(new tuners) by SCT, just since MVII last year.
I am sure the diablo guys are not far away from having similar technology and features.
There does appear to be a learning curve ,for new superchargers offered
I am by no means any expert , just telling what I have heard and read here.
By the Way,We had a lenghty discussion this past weekend(Cedar Falls) and unanimously agreed that the key is, to have customer support and follow up.
The guy's from Diablo got huge praise, for thier efforts with Procharger and level of commitment to our Cause.
That is where the biggest difference lies.:twocents:
Mac, you have way more experience in this than I have.Just trying to stay focused and objective.:cool4:

What Todd said!
Did it and couldn't be more satisfied with my STOCK MM. It really wakes up the MM. Tune came with 2 programs 1 -- 3.55 gears(stock) and 2. tune for 4.10 gears, which I am probably going to do later.:D

Whats the average going price to get a chip from Lidio programmed just as you described it, with 3.55 and 4.10 settings?

Also, the 4.10 settings includes the speedo and transmission recalibrations?

What "TAF" said. Whether you buy a chip or a handheld tuner, and whether it's Diablo's or superchip's, doesn't make a real big difference as far as the performance that you'll get out of it. What DOES matter is the person (engine tuner) who burns the engine tune parameters (ie air/fuel ratio, ignition timing advance, and transmission shift points ) into that chip or handheld tuner that you've bought. I like Lidio of Alternative Auto myself for that job.
