I'm dropping the car off tomorrow at the dealer for 30k mile service. One question though. I have installed the tune from Alternative Auto. Before taking the car in should I reinstall the factory tune, or leave the custom tune in? Granted it is only a few minutes to uninstall and then reinstall, just curious if it matters if I leave the custom tune in. Thanks for the help.

They shoudlnt flash your pcm for routine stuff but if you tell them you have a check engine of other electrical problems they are def going to plug into your PCM , once they see your modified they will either A) immediately stop working on the car. B) Continue as if it was stock and fix what ever it is. basically some dealers are mod-friendly while others are mod-not-so-friendly.

And, according to some on this forum,
C) some don't know what they are doing!

just curious if it matters if I leave the custom tune in. Unless you have a prior "understanding" with your dealer, why take the chance?

I had Dorian Ford do my 30K service.
Left car the way it is, chip/gears/CAI. They deleted the charge for the tire rotation and air filter as I didn't need either serviced.

I don't know what relationship (if any) you have with your wrench, I am on a first name basis with the guys that service my car and they know what I have, they are all gear heads. I go to a free standing Ford Service facility, only service no sales. I am next to my car at all times it is being serviced, so there are no surprises.
I believe if you are in for maintenance only, there should be no reason to change anything, do you think they are not going to notice your intake, manifolds and custom exhaust ????.:D
