Anybody got one? How do you like it?

I'll probably be giving up the company van in a month or so and going on a vehicle allowance instead. I'll use that to make the MM payments a month or so until I find another work ride. I'm thinking an Aviator would be good, a SUV of some sort would be preferred and since the Aviator shares the MM engine I'm thinking it would be a good choice. I could probably get a good deal on a used low mileage or new leftover '04 which will still have 32 valves and a throttle cable instead of "fly by wire". I should have plenty of spare parts for it with all the MM goodies I have laying around.

Mike Poore has one. So does CruzTaker. Both seem to like 'em just fine. In fact, Mike's trying to get me to buy one.

Depends upon your size. The Aviator is a "chick" car through & through, and the seat height is a little tall, for me, since the sunroof takes more headroom than I'd like. (I'm 6'4 and go 250) Barb loves the Aviator, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better vehicle, at any price. The motor, you know about, but it's the wonderful 5sp transmission that won me over. It's loaded with neat options, and you get two years 24,000 free service (oil changes, etc.) to boot. The seats are heated AND cooled, and both of us agree that it's the most comfortable vehicle in our fleet for a long trip, including the Marauder. Another plus is it's the ultimate sleeper. Barb's got more "kill" stories with her Aviator than me with the MM, and I'm always trolling for ricers. We have had no service issues whatsoever.

In my opinion, excepting the Mustang, it's the best vehicle in Ford's fleet; certainly enough reason for Ford to be discontinuing it's manufacture.
BTW, she's getting 20MPG +-. :)

Jessica loves hers. I am OK with it. I personally enjoy riding in it rather than driving it for two reasons.

I like sitting with Gage watching DVD's and the other is the difficulty in getting so used to sitting so high.

We are going to do some basic bolt on mods for better performance, but otherwise it handles and scoots quite nicely. Particularly in snow with the AWD. The engine power is quite acceptable, and I can only imagine how nice it would be after Lidio or Dennis got a hold of its EEC.

Lots of eye candy inside, loaded with cool features, and a great sound system and GPS if equipped.

I feel it is one of the best looking SUV in it's size. Most mid/full SUV's are just plain frugly.

Check it out....the chick ain't too bad either.:P
