Finally got my KVR front brakes installed and now I'm happy. Many thanks to Dennis R. and David Morton for the "how to " help since the last time I had rotors and calipers off Nixon was the president.

Since the KVR rotors are so much lighter, even though they're directionally vaned and drilled, I want to keep as much air as possible flowing over them to prevent warpage as long as I can. So ... has anyone ducted air to their front rotors yet? And did you remove that stamped steel plate by the rotor? I figured I'd ask before I reinvent the wheel.

Ask Fordnut. He has something done.

Yep,
I got reproduction defrost ducts/vents for an early mustang (I believe '65-'66) and used the ducts for scoops. They're plastic and I slightly modified them with a heat gun. Then I got weatherproof ducting and connected them up, blowing at the back of the rotors in the center. They're tied to the sway bar with zip-ties and routed next to the frame to the front bumper cover. And yes, the backing plates are removed.

Did you have any trouble in the rain? The backing plate is also a shield to block snow rain dirt etc...

My van didn't have backing plates from the factory. The Baer kit instructions say to remove the backing plates. The KVR kit doesn't specify whether to remove the backing plates or not.

However, the rain really creates a mess on the wheels and tires.
