Long time, no post. Since I sold the MM, I've been working vigorously on this lil guy. Finally got it sprayed this week and here's the result. (It's really dusty)

 When's the last time you opened the hood on your MM? j/k There's actually a ton of room and it's so simple to work on this car. I find it alot more entertaining to toy with this (mechanically) than my old MM. I do miss the interior room and warranty, though.

So you have the 93 which means you have the last year before they went with the 'bubbly' look and heavier overall. I had a 95 (last year of the 5.0) and loved the car but damned if it wasn't leaking gas, oil, and coolant. Shops claimed to fix the problems but it forever leaked till the day I traded it in. I topped everything off so the dealer didn't catch on :D

I think the body style of yours looks sharp if its kept simple. Wings, graphics, etc. turn it cheesy in a hurry. What I wouldn't like if I had yours is the 'pinto' interior.

Looking good Ryan! Gives me incentive to work on my Fox body!

I've been lucky... I bought it not leaking and only sprung a few here and there. They've all been quick simple fixes: oil pressure sender split down the side, lower radiator hose blew, and AC compressor went and started leaking oil all over. Now it is dry as a bone and doesn't give me any fits. Only issue coming up is axle seals... which will be taken care of when I build the rear in August.

Marty: since when do you have a fox? Did you end up buying that vert that was on here a while back?

I had a '95 GTS. The only leaks that I had was seapage at the rear main seal, rear pinion seal, lower intake, and the seams of the radiator.

I remember the GTS! It was basically a GT with no frills for someone to take it straight to the garage and build a race car...sort of like a poor man's Cobra 'R'. Thats how my mind is remembering what the GTS was, am i correct?

Ryan:

I got the Yellow car (pictured below) at the beginning of the month. I haven't started working on it yet, but am starting to collect parts. I am thinking of maybe an S Trim, a 5 lug conversion and a kicking sound sytem.

What are you doing about pwer for yours?

Hmmm... finally got the "Mascot" mod that I pioneered?

I'm staying away from power adders until I have the whole car braced correctly. Right now I've got ported & polished factory heads and ported lower intake manifold. Then there's the required MAF, TB, smog system eliminated, pullies, long tubes, etc...

I focused most of my energy on interior and exterior restoration... as well as a complete soup-to-nuts hot-handler suspension.

Ryan, I gotta tell ya, that's a gorgeous color!! That was a fantastic choice IMO. BTW, what type of cylinder heads did you get, and how big are the intake ports?

edit: ooops, sorry...... I missed that you've already stated in your last post that they are factory heads.

Constable

Thanks Billy. The heads are factory castings (e7's). They have a mild port-job done... nothing radical.

The color is the original Electric Red Clearcoat Metallic. It was a one-year only color for Mustangs in 93. This is 1 of only 166 5.0 / 5-speed coupes made in the color. I like it alot... pics can't show what it does in the sunlight. Looks real cool.

Looks real cool.LOL...you must have read my mind, cuz I was just going to ask you what that color is called. Thanks. That looks just like the color of the 67 Nova that was racing in Attco,NJ last year when I took my Marauder racing there. That Nova was the best looking car out of all of them that were being raced that day. And as good as it looked, it was also running 10 second ET's!!! Good luck with your project Ryan, and please keep us posted.

I'm sure that you're knowledgeable concerning Mustang mods, but if there's ever anything I can do to be of help to you during this project, then don't hesistate to shoot me a PM, or an e-mail, cuz I often catch some interesting Mustang info on the SVT board.

Ryan: For what its worth, I think you hit the mark by keeping it that color. I will try not to drool on your car when I see it, but it won't be easy because I love that color!

Mine would be a sleeper. A Mustang that has the looks of the v6 with the handling and the power of the V8.

Thanks. It helped that the exterior was simply faded out from 12 years of sunlight and no wax. The door jams are still in great shape, so I just had them strip the exterior and blend/polish the jams. We'll see how it turns out.

Very nice coupe. I sold my 89 5.0 LX hatchback a few months ago and would of kept it it was a coupe 5-speed.

I have Cobra upper and lower intake manifold and a new Holley billet 65 mm throttle body that would look nice the under the hood I'm planning on ebaying soon. Maybe, I'll try list in our classifieds....anyone interested?

Email me with the intake info: Constable615@optonline.net

Is it the FRPP "repro" intake, or one of the originals that they sold a few years back?

Speaking of parts. I have a top piston (if Marty needs one) NIB and 2 console upper pieces (holds the ashtray door in place and mirror switch). Mine are in tan and have the area for the power mirror needed to be cut out. Both are new (one in bag, one not). Any offers?

My top is on great shape and my interior is black. But, I appreciate the offers as I am collecting parts for the car.

Stopped by the shop today to drop off some items. The window moldings, door handles, lock set, and taillights are all mounted up. The only thing missing is the hood and front bumper. That should go on tomorrow morning. Don't mind the wheel marks on the trunk lid... there is still residue on there... nothing to be concerned about. The car hasn't been finished or detailed yet.
