:bows: :bows: :bows:Isn't Barry (aka "Cruztaker") running Nitrous oxide now? If a car is equipped with Nitrous Oxide injection then it is NOT "NATURALLY ASPIRATED" (aka "N/A"). Therefore your claim of a 12.5 second ET from a "N/A" Marauder isn't true unless Barry has accomplished that w/out Nitrous Oxide. And IF he did accomplish that w/out Nitrous oxide nor any other power adder, then I'm very eager to find out how. :)
BTW, congratulations Barry. Even with a power adder, a 12.5 is impressive for a 4,200 LB car. :banana2:

Agreed. We discussed this a few times before, perhaps before AZ was with us. Nonetheless, it's quite impressive and CruzTaker has earned his kudos (and wings!).
Congrats, Barry, couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. With my best of this season being a 12.4x, I'm watching you closely, dude, come get me! 12.5x without a blower, wow, outstanding!

I thought that Barry/Cruztaker said he was gonna do some other "things" to the car to improve on his 13.27 run at Mason-Dixon last October. :dunno: Could be that he got into the 12's as an N/A. :D I must have missed the nitrous discussions.

It's all good folks.
Wait for me to wake up and tell the rest of the story...;)
It is true that I needed some help to break into the 12's and it's no secret. I just didn't announce to the world I added a little GO juice.
My test runs and dynos were no different than two years back. I still hit around 302 RWHP and 318 torque on the dyno and run anywhere from 13.2 to 13.4....ticking left head and all....
I went with a very conservative Nitrous shot at 80 hp. It yielded 365/418 on the dyno and without a purge at the track, once I was able to get the lines primed, I ran 12.53 at 107 with a wonderfull 1.73 60' time.
The launch is what impressed me most. I now know what the surge you S/C'd guys must feel when you truley hookup on launch.
I was most impressed that I did these runs/times back to back with no cool down, no ice, and headlight in. The nitrous produces very consistant times regardless of cool downs.
I smoked...and I mean smoked...some very mean looking cobras last night. THEY were less than impressed.;)
I couldn't stop grinning.
BTW: The gas is fun on the highway as well....oh my what acceleration.

We all know that the REAL secret to Barry's speed is his ENGRAVED PHP Airbox cover. 1 of only 2 on the entire planet...
what really cracks me up about his explanation was the "headlight in" statement! completely ingenious to remove it when at the track to help get as much air into the engine as possible. Every time I think about Barry removing the headlight at the track it makes me chuckle.
way to go Barry!

Welcome to the 12 second club Barry. Somehow I just knew that you wouldn't be satisfied with the 13 second bracket. I know how that is. Thanks to power adders, those of us who choose to have a 12 second Marauder, can have one.:)

I am glad to see more diversity in the power adder options.
I love the look on the face of an unsuspecting driver when "the big ole easy target 4 door" cleans his clock!

There is one drawback to the Nitrous.
It stinks. :o
Everytime I fire a shot, the car has an odd smell about in the cockpit. Running the Citgo 114 unleaded I recently found in our area also adds to the stink as well. But no one warned me about the N20.
It's a dead give away to those educated bunch. They walk up to car and and look in the trunk (seeing nothing of course) or inside the car and get a whiff and look me straight in the eye and smile.;)
I am now curious to see what the 100 shot would do at the track. I'll have to wait till MV-III to hook up with Lidio to do some minor changes, but I am thinking 100 shot at Milan.
Can't wait to actually compete with the big boys. And you know who you are. Well... there's 3 of you I'm not ****g with for another year or so....but the rest of ya's....:D:banana:

There is no one, and I mean NO ONE, that works around performance cars that doesn't love that smell. It brings a smile to everyone's face! :D

Is that the Hydrogen Sulfide that is added to prevent kids from 'huffing' the Nitrous directly out of the bottle??
I think that it is the same chemical that they add to natural gas to make it smelly and easier to detect a leak. (Because both nitrous and natural gas have no odor)
BTW...Way to get DEEP in the 12s Barry!!!! :banana2: :banana2: :banana2:

Great job Barry
I knew NOS was gonna be just the thing!
What folks need to look at is the torque output from adding NOS. Forget about the peak hp numbers....its torque that moves you down the track. Barry gained 100 ft lbs of rwtq with an 80 shot! And NOS is a major torque adder throughout the entire powerband.
LOL....Barry's NOS'd torque numbers are better than a lot of SC numbers. Now that is power!!
Congrats again Barry!
BTW, Barry, I haven't been sitting idle since last Novembers 12.1 run...So I'll be at least a few ticks better. That said, I better make another appointment with Lidio:D
