Impala SS Wagon?

I guess I have been living in a cave....

I drooled like any of the rest of us when the mid 90's Impalas were at the dealers and on the streets. I routinely tried to look at my 20 year old budget trying to convince myself I could get one (but the bank never saw it that way) so when I saw this I was in a state of mind Prez Bush would call 'Shock & Awe'.

I have never seen nor knew Chevy produced a Impala wagon. This may be considered known to all but it was not to me so wanted to make sure this wasn't a Caprice or Roadmaster cloned into a Impala and that they really did exist.

They must not have made many as, like I said, I have NEVER laid eyes on one. And I am one to point to one passing by or sitting in a parking lot advising people who didn't care that there was one near us and that it had the Corvette motor :P

Nice work done :up: But i don't think they was ever an ss station wagon from the factory..But i have seen alot of clones and they look good too.

Looks good. They had to reshape the rear wheels to make it look like an SS.

Good looking job. As someone mentioned in an earlier post, I too have seen several fake Imp SS wagons that were nicely cloned from Caprice and Roadmaster wagon platforms, but none of these had opened-up the "Hudson Hornet/Nash Ambassador" looking rear wheel openings like the one pictured. Pretty slick.

Thats right, I forgot that the wagons had the fenders covered. No round fenders on those cars looked pretty :puke:

Well this isn't exactly the same thing, but it's close in idea.
This web site shows a few pics of people that have updated their 92-94 crown vics with 98-2004 exterior parts.
I wonder how long it will take for someone to build a Marauder Wagon?

Any wagon claiming to be an Impala SS wagon from the year '94-'96 is definitely a custom job. It sure does look like it rolled off the line from GM though. I wouldn't mind owning one myself...but with a beast of an engine under the hood!

I've seen several modified wagons trying to be passed off as Impala SS's. That is, by far the coolest!

the Original 94-96 SS Concept Started as a GM employee's Neighbor's Station Wagon.

I miss mine, it had more low end grunt than the MM, could run 147 mph, but it handled like a blindfolded Wooly Mammoth compared to the MM, and the interior was way out of fashion, even when it was new.....

Keep in mind though, that all 94-96 B Body Wagons have the LT-1 as standard equipment....so watch out for that Roadmaster Estate Wagon with the Mickey Thompsons....

Hm. There is a Caprice wagon that I see often in my work area. White with Gray riceing stripes and his own "Caprice SS" badges. You know I think he's a poser just for the decor alone.
Wasn't aware that the wagons have a bit more motor than the standard Caprice.
Probably good to know.

Long time lurker first time poster. There was never a 94-96 Impala SS wagon. Like you all have been saying some good clones but not actual Impalas.
Here is a picture of my wagon the day I brought it home.

The Caprice SS badges are real GM parts as the Impalas that were shipped to the Middle East were called Caprice SS instead of Impala.

All 94-96 wagons came with the LT1 engine just like the Impala.

Just thought I would add my two cents and now go back to enjoying my reading.
