This is why you always stand next to the breach and not in front of it...

Linkity link no workee fer me....but if this is the vid I think it is, the soldier put the round in the breach, shut the ... hatch ( ? ) ... and the equipment went off ... worn down equipment failure in the firing pin department. Saw this video on another site ... Bigboys.com if I remember...

Can't make out the uniform. Old style US helmets. I'd estimate that the gun was on the order of a 40 mm. Certainly much smaller caliber than 75mm, 90mm, 105mm, 120mm, and 155mm that I have seen. :D

I would suspect that the guy is in pretty bad shape from the recoil impact. Probably broken ribs, crushed chest or collapsed pelvis. :( That is if he didn't die from ruptured organs. Anyway, not funny ... its sad ... regardless of who they belonged to. IMHO.

No one bothered to rush over and check him out!!!
His helmet flew off too, his DI would be giving him a nice "lecture" about proper helmet retention!

That would be my guess too. Anyone hear about the South Korean Private that snapped and opened up on his fellow soldiers killing 8 Wednesday?

It was probably this guy when everyone laughed at him.
