Ok, I know there are other threads going regarding torque converters but I found a link (posted below) that I think makes it worth while to start a new thread. If our often loved but always underpaid moderators choose, they can move this thread elsewhere.

I was looking for more information on the torque converter issue (even though I felt like my mind was already made up to proceed with it based on, among other things, my performance shop's recommendations, Sarge's wise advise and experience, and Dennis's advice and counsel).

If you too would like to learn more on the hows and whys of the T/C, click here and learn something:

As always, hope this helps. It would be nice to know that I am putting back at least a portion of what I have taken away from this board...

I say you have done exactly that, Marty, thanks.

Since the TC has come to the front page, mod-wise, I've gotten a few e-mails from friends here, asking me to explain how the TC works. It's sometimes hard for me to reply, because I don't know what they already understand, and I feel I'm being too elementary in my explanation. Moreover, there is a lot of techy savy among us here, and that can be intimidating to those less experienced, makes them reluctant to raise their question.

Your link, Marty, offers a lot more 411 on many automotive topics, I urge everyone to bookmark, and page through to see what's available. Someday, you may be asked for advice. Now we all have a shortcut for learning what we don't yet know, without embarassment.

That site is great. I looked up TCs and automatic trannys when I got my Marauder, and learned a hell of a lot. Planetary gearsets and all that. They also cover the limited-slip diff.

Thanks Martyo for the info on this site. I've almost convinced myself to also spring for the TC mod but need to find a shop to do the work. Thanks again for the info.

Murader03: I used a local Mustang shop to do the work on my car (gears, etc.). I will be using him again to do the T/C. And, I just sent another MM owner to him as well. The 8.8 rear is the same as on the Mustangs with some exceptions as to the parking brake set up. The Shop did not feel that the T/C would be much of an issue (a couple of hours of labor).
