I went to the local dealer this morning to try and see one of those
babies....They didn't have any and said they won't get any.....The
sales dude said that there was only 4000 being produced and that orders
for all of them have been already placed......
Sounds like the ole Harley Davidson trick, where they limit production to
drive up the price.....That just burns my butt........Oh well....I guess I
will have to wait to see one on the road.....
They said that they are coming out with the 300 with the
SRT-8 package shortly as well.....

Al, try another dealer. If they don't want your business, screw them!!

300C SRT-8 is already out. The Magnum SRT-8 is due any day and the Charger SRT-8 will be out later. The Jeep SRT-8 is due out this fall.

Also, beware if you see a 300C or Magnum, look for that tiny little badge with the little red stripe. Without knowing what it was, I "tried" to take one from a stop light while leaving the Chrysler Tech Center a couple weeks ago. When we hit triple digits at the top of the ramp leaving CTC he was still pulling away, it wasn't even close.

Gotta get a supercharger. He would not have done that if you were "blown".
As an all-around performer, the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger SRT8 is capable of awe-inspiring numbers unheard-of in a muscle sedan: 0-60 mph in around 5 seconds, quarter-mile time in the 13-second range and braking distance from 60-0 mph in approximately 110 feet. The Dodge Charger SRT8 is also capable of accomplishing SRT's signature performance test of 0-100-0 mph in the mid 16-second range.
I want one.
Can't remember exactly what I read, BUT
The 300 SRT 8 with the 425 hp will be going up in price before or at the start of next year by about $5,000, making it over $42,000!
The Daytona R/T Charger with the 2 hot colors I think will be in limited production not the SRT 8?
The SRT 8 Charger should be out this fall? Am guessing at a price of about $37,000 to $39,000, hope am wrong and it is more like $33,000 to $34,000

Price from Chrysler is Charger SRT-8 will start at $37,995. This is two thousand less than then the 300C SRT-8. Of course finding a base model without markup will be hard. Also, this does not include the gas guzzlers tax.

ummm...
I'm still happy with my MM :D
The new Dodges are cool, but the MM is still in a class of its own

Well once again, the manufacturers are pricing something that would sell
like wide fire out of the market for those that want it. Making it avail for
only the upper class with money to burn.....I don't fit that bunch..LOL..
It will be marked up by dealers (Stealers), but won't move any better then
the GTO or the SSR.......then the price will come down and they will start
crying about their bottom line being low again and whoa is me and all the
other BS that comes from the bean counters that cut their own throats
with the over pricing...
End of Vamp....:beatnik:

So so very true. I'm actually getting jaded to this. I don't even consider the SRT-8's as worth discussion - simply because they aren't going to be priced in a range except a fortunate few.

Charger = tiny car like the 300/Magnum.
Sit in one and you'll see.
The only DC car that excites me is the RAM SRT-10. But, I'd still go with the new Lincoln Pickup or an F150 HD Ed for kid seating.

That's not impressive at all...
BMW and AMG have that beat.
When Chrylser can beat the AMG numbers, they can have something to brag about.

Chrysler has every reason NOT to beat AMG numbers. Much like GM will never let any of its own products beat the Vette (at least not for very long)...
The Gas Guzzler Tax on the Charger will be $2,100 just like on the 300 SRT-8!!!
