That aqua color was popular in 1957. Very nice looking car !!! You take care of it well. :2thumbs:

Are the "1957" decals on the fenders and windshield on the car itself or is that just on the photo?? Their purpose ??? Anyone who knows cars can spot a '57 Chevy from a 1/2 mile away in a dust storm.

Its an advertisement since this is a taxi cab company that has been around since 1946. We have about 600 cars on the road, plus Flash Cab in Chicago. This is mainly our parade car. It has our logos on it and it's cab number is "1957."

..........oh yeah! Love those '57 Chevy's-----I was 10 then and my Dad was a Chevy Dealer ----an amazing fact then--he couldn't keep them in stock and yet that year Chevy was out sold 2-1 by '57 Ford--yet you can't hardly find them now--and they surely don't bring the $$ the Chevy's do--..oh well..whoda guess--I would love to have one still today--maybe some day----sorry--got carried away there--back on subject....yeah-there cool alright----

That's because within 2 years the rocker panels had rusted away, the trunk liner and the floorboards were rusting away. Ford had some very nice looking cars in the mid-50's to mid-60's but the bodies on them did not last much longer than a 3 year payment plan. The Chevys held up much better and the introduction of "Body by Fisher" solidified Chevy's place in the 1960's. :D That 1957 is truly one of the real classics. :2thumbs:

It's gorgeous. I had the same smoothie chrome wheels on my 1960 Merc Monterey Montclair.
