A guess it's true what they say:

The new mustangs also have a phony oil pressure gauge.

The difference is that the MM has a true fix for this dilemma.

The new mustangs also have a phony oil pressure gauge.ALL Ford products made since at least 1990 (if not earlier) have phony oil pressure gauges...

...but my POS work van Tonka-Toy '01 GMC Safari has a real one...go figure.

OK, let me correct my statement above...All Ford gas-engined vehicles have a phony gauge...I can't say for sure about diesels...

Fake gage on the new Mustang? What a surprise!

All they need to do is come over to the MM website to get the fix. ;)

All they need to do is come over to the MM website to get the fix.Does the new Mustang use AutoMeter gauges like the MM? If not, our fix won't work for them...

There WAS a fix on one of the T-bird sites about replacing the sender and jumping a resistor on the back of the instument panel to make the factory in-dash gauge actually work, but the factory gauges have only relative markings (N-O-R-M), not actual pressure readings. This fix was for older (mid '90s) cars...the gauges may be totally different now.

OOPS! Yeh, you're right; since it's a dash mounted unit, prolly isn't the same situation. We simply never paid any attention to it in our late model Muustangs, since they're nothing more than idiot lights with needles.
