Verizon is offering Fios high speed internet service which is kicking the tail out of DSL and cable. They run a fiber optic cable to your house. Speeds are amazing. The basic plan, which is about the cost of cable internet ($39 a month) boasts up to 5 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up (similar to cable, sorta. I get 4.75 Mbps down and 355 kbps up on Roadrunner); the next plan for $49 a month gets you 15 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up. Or you can go all out for $199 a month and get 30 Mbps down, 5 Mbos up.
