I'm a Dell Server man myself, but I have a new client with a couple of Compaq servers; one 1600 and ML370. The 1600 had only 1 drive in the cage so I put 3 more in to create a Raid-5 with a hot fail-over. I started the ACU to configure the array and it said it couldn't find a RAID controller. Huh? I crack the case and did not see anything that would tell me either way what was in there.

I figured it was on the main motherboard but after surfing and googling, I think Compaq used PCI cards to handle a raid upgrade. Anyone know which card I should get for the 1600? I see some 3400's out there that do the trick but I want to make sure I get the right card for the drive cage in the box.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance!

John
