Saw a fast blurb on the 6pm news on Orlando TV Channel 2 about FHP now having "Bait" Cars. Showed photo of a Green 05 Mustang GT. Did not say too much about it but I think they will show more at the 11pm news. They already have 20 or so MM's, which make a good "Bait" Car, but if they are running out of CVPI's, may as well get Mustang GT's.
Does Reinhart know anything? :help:

These bait cars first appeared on Orlando news broadcasts earlier this month and there was a thread and several photos of the cars as well. They are very active on the Interstate highways these days. :nono:

In Seattle, Bait car has a totally different meaning. They have several different models set up with hidden cameras in the dash, and electronics that the police can trigger to kill the car and lock the doors. They caught 4 car thieves the first week. :)

I've seen that stuff on TV. I also remember a long time ago, well for me thats like 8 years ago, the fuzz started having old squad cars towed to the sides of highways to act as dummies. Tail-lights galore.

Although we are a smal state, they are now using them in Delaware, not so much as trying to entrap people, but seeking out agressive drivers. About time too. The latest newsprint story had them in an old beat up Taurus with their handheld radios. They'll drive along, until some idiot passes them, then follow at a reasonable distance until they have seen 3 viloations, speed, following to close, failure to signal lane chjanges, etc. then radio a squad car to with the info and tag number. They are also using unmarked CVPI's (without exterior lights). They are mainly on I-95/I-495/Del-1, so all beware when you travel through Delaware. They ticketed 250 driver last week, and I'm sure twice that many got away while they were busy. I've also seen them shooting Laser from the rest area on I-95 and they had all the patrol cars busy at the time, 6 chase cars, and they were all writting tickets.

Is the State of Delaware having a tough time balancing the budget?
