4,200 LB 2003 Marauder with Trilogy S/Cer, a 9.5 PSI pulley,
& Kooks headers and 2.5" exhaust= 400 RWHP & 360 RWTQ.

VS.

2,600 LB 1995 Integra with a Turbocharger
running 12 PSI of boost=320 HP at the front wheels:rolleyes: & NO torque......

The result:
4,200 LB Marauder 1 :banana2:

2,600 LB Integra 0

The Integra's downfall? small engine= NO torque.

I forgot to mention the fact that with the level of power that guy's engine is at (320 HP) he had to rebiuld it because it blew up since the stock internals couldn't handle 320 HP:baaa: :baaa: :baaa: . The rebuilt engine has 10,000 miles on it. Note that this guy's car weighs a whopping 1,600 LBS less than a Marauder weighs, and despite his engine puting only 80 HP less to the wheels than my car does, it still couldn't keep up. And that's due to the lack of torque. And BTW, he also had race gas in his tank(which makes me suspect an aggressive engine tune), while I was running nothing but 93 octane pump gas like I always do. Ya just gotta LUV that V8 TORQUE!!!

I bet 320 hp through the front wheels is a real joy to get out of the hole!!! :shake:

How long did that ricer sit still before the front tires grabbbed???

Great kill Billy! :banana2:....I hope that you blew his Type 'R' stickers off!

Thanks guys. To answer Joe's question.....I wanted to go at this guy from a standstill, but he didn't want to. He said that my car would literally destroy his car off the line. :D I said to him that it's a compliment for a driver of a 2,600 LB car to say that to a driver of a 4,200 LB car (that made him think). I said to him.."Why don't you just turn your car around and run it in reverse?" :baaa: He didn't have anything to say to that either. So we went from a 40 MPH roll (on an empty highway at 1:00 am) so that he wouldn't have traction issues, and even with my 4.56 gears which are anything but highway gears, I still didn't have any problem with him.

But atleast he's a good guy. He isn't the cocky arrogant type at all. He's just a little misguided puting all that money into an economy car to try and make it into a muscle car which it will never be. The drivetrains and bottom ends in those types of cars just can't take a lot of torque w/out puting a lot of money into them. So why not just start out with a V8 powered right-wheel-drive car to begin with?

oh, BTW...I thought it was very amusing when him and his three buddies all looked at the inside of my car and said..."Wow, look at that interior! This car is a complete package.....cruise in comfort and style, and still have blazing speed when you hit the go pedal hard!".......looking at the cheap looking interiors of their cars I can see why they were so impressed with mine. And his buddy's Volkswagon GTI was brand new. :puke: (that turbocharged VolkswagonGTI also ran me, but it wasn't even close despite it also being more than 1,000 LBS lighter than our Marauders are).

Integra... cheap interior?! Whatever. http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
The Marauder has a nice interior. Especially compared to some of the newer Ford products.. But the 95 Integra is very high quality. I know... I've owned both.

Originally I was going to kid that the 281 is a small motor. http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Compared to the 1.8L though, it's frickin' huge!

Integra... cheap interior?! Whatever. http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif Well aparently this 95 Integra owner who I work with doesn't share your enthusiasm for his interior, nor do I. And his interior isn't in lousy condition either. Either way, they're warmed over economy cars.

I've always wished the the Marauder came with the 5.4L engine, or a 350 cube engine, but atleast it's still a V8 and a whole lot more than a 1.8L weed wacker sounding sowing machine like what I saw when I looked with a flashlight under the hood of that interga. Can I say it?......where's the torque? This guy had a rather elaborate turbocharger set-up churning out 12 LBS of boost. But not enough torque to propel that lightweight go-cart down the highway fast enough to keep up with a big tank of a Marauder that's supercharged, and running pump gas.:baaa:
