Well, as most of you should know, I spent the previous week (Sunday through Friday) in Fort Lauderdale to visit the Art Institute there (subsequently known as AIFL).

They have 31 locations across the U.S. including Arlington, New York, Chicago, San Fransisco, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas and more.

Deal is, when you declare your major, you have the option to have a school close to you and a city where your intended field of study will have many job opportunities for after graduation.

Roughly 92% of their students at AIFL have a job in their field within 6 months of graduation. If I'm not mistake they average around $32k their first year of work as well, often with no experience. They work with each student individually to build a portfolio of work even in the same major and classes to ensure they get the right job for that students capabilities and so on.

I really enjoyed the time I spent there with other prospective students and faculty. I "kicked some ass for mom" as my dad said and won a $1000 scholarship and an award for their most valuable student! I am now highly considering the AIFL or AIMiami. I'm excited about college and I'll be going for a Bachelor of the Arts in Advertising and Marketing if I go. I'll work with the business end of things, maybe even shoot for owning my own advertising firm. We'll see.

Is anyone else here familiar with the Art Institutes?

Check CCAD, Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, Ohio or
DAAP, Design, Art, Architecture and Planning at University of Cincinnati. Both are top tier schools.

I would but it's too far, but Chicago is not a plausible city for me to attend college.

The only far away cities I would be allowed to attend college are the South Florida area, Pittsburg and Washington D.C. simply because I have family within batting distance.

I'm 100% ok with that too, there are 1,000,009 reasons as to why I should be around family my first year or so of college.

I have several friends who have attended Ft. Lauderdale AI and they all loved it. One is going for 3D animation and the other I am not sure. But one of them who was attending the Culinary Arts program just dropped out because he learned none of his credits would transfer to FIU.

My girlfriend graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts (Interior Design) from Miami AI (formerly IFAC) and I must say she learned everything she needed to know when entering the field and got a great job only 1 month after graduating.

They are great schools and I would recommend them to anyone.

What about the big arts college in Savannah, Georgia? I know friends who went there and they said it was nice....and close to home.

If you keep refreshing that page you will see various student's pictures.

Just base your decisions on sound, solid reasons.

May I offer a parable: The fellow had three woman madly in love with him, and had to choose one as his life mate. He of course, chose the one with big tits.

You're an exceptional young man and can write your own ticket; choose wisely.

.....Remember Vesta Lee is watching. :)

Indeed she is!

I have also looked at the SCAD but I have no family around there.

Family is something my dad wants near by my first year. For one reason I may very well end up living with them!

Pittsburgh is what I meant! OOPS!

Here is one picture of their culinary school and one of their regular.

Yeah you can't really get too much of an idea of their regular school but oh well.

I took these.

That's what happens when you have nothing to do at 3a.m.
