I will be there Saturday at 7:00 a.m. I am running in Street Ford to complete the Richmond Rain Day. Then I will run the bristol brackets. Car show on Sunday. I think Martyo and his entourage will be at bristol also. Test n Tune is friday, the real show begins Sat.

Martyo: I got it. I got it.
Merc: You do?
Martyo: We'll work up a "Number 6" on 'em.
Merc: "Number 6"? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that one...
Martyo: Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into Fun Ford Weekend, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.
Merc: You spare the women?
Martyo: NAW. We made them wash our cars at the Number 6 Dance later on.
Merc: Marvelous.

Spent the day yesterday watching some super fast fords at Bristol...one ran 6.34 in the 1/4...marty had the only MM there...one 68 cyclone ran 11.5 I believe...the rest were mavericks, mustangs, pintos and such...the old classic stock mustangs (and there were several really nice ones) never ran below 15 sec...one brand new 05 black mustang was awesome...he fell on his face out of the hole, I thought he had broke, nearly stopped then he opened it up and it ran the guy next to him down by half track and ran a 10.41...and you could not even hear it run...it was extremely hot I would say mid 90s and humid...I was in the shade and still got sunburned...had fun wish I could go back today...willie

I went up today, saw Marty and his entourage and Merc showed up. Marty ran true street, he was barely in the 11's. Terrible weather conditions. Merc was in the show Sunday, he ran Saturday but I didn't get his times. It was barely sprinkling when I went in the gates, so I went as a spectator and figured I could pay the extra $ to compete if it cleared off.

Rain quit and I started up to tech and the rain started again. Rain quit and I started up to tech and the rain started again. Sorry about that, musta been my fault it kept raining.

I did get to see some impressive equipment up there even if I didn't get to run and improve representation for the MM. Next time I should be blown and maybe that will make up for it.

My best time of the day was 14.44 at 93.50 miles per hour. Bristol is not the best track for times. The up hill grade and 3000 ft above sea level didn't help. I talked to several racers and they stated they were .4 tenths off. The heat and humidly was brutal. Sunday I decided to enter the Car Show and won Best Marauder. As soon as I can recover from the trip I will write a better update.

Note: I am the one that is not holding a award. That's because they needed to make one for me , I should recieve it in the mail in the next couple of weeks.

Congrats to Mark on the best Marauder award. I went to look for him at the show and couldn't find him. :( At least we saw each other a few times during the weekend.

Bristol is one sweet track although a bot slow. I didn't get many passes in due to the weather and the crowd. My best pass was an 11.95 @ 113 mph. I got out of it at the 1,000 foot mark when the car got squirrelly on a very wet track. In all of the passes that I have made, this was the scariest pass I ever made when my car started to get real loose on a very wet track. They shut the lanes after my pass.

I had an absolute blast this weekend. We were the guests of Tim Lynch/Steve Petty (do a little reading on Outlaw Mustang drivers and you will see who these guys are). They mean business. Nothing like having a million dollar rig as your support vehicle! Plus, I got to work the BBQ all weekend and made a bunch of new friends.

Look for me at the Fat Car shoot out in the fall.
