Will there be a 2006 Crown Victoria? I was at the Ford Dealership today, and asked about them, and was told that the model was discontinued.
I was looking for something to replace a 2002 Expedition fer the wife.

Then they are the only ones who know that.
The 'sale' has been continued. Did they happen to have 2005s still in stock?

Well that's one way to get your to make a decision about the 2005 infront of you, but if it's true, Ford didn't tell these guys...

Yay for the antenna being put back into the rear window instead of the right-rear quarter panel. What's that trip computer all about? Wonder where it's going to be located.

I hate dealerships like that, and then whats worse is that the send the same people from local dealerships to staff the booths at the autoshow. They never know what they're talking about.

I wish they had made a more attractive, power antenna for it. The window antennas don't work for crap.

I never had trouble with the window ant. Anyway its basicly just a
carry over from the 2005 Crown Victoria.

The 'sale' has been continued. Did they happen to have 2005s still in stock?I guess I should have researched more before I posted... I've seen 2006 CV's and GM's... They didn't have a single CV in stock. REALLY pushing hard on the 500's and Freestyles.
I since found that I can get a GM GS for under $19k here in Austin... May be going that direction.

I would like to have a better antenna too. The reception isn't very good.

Thanks but NO THANKS...
In town isn't so much of a problem, I commute about 250 miles on a regular basis. About 100 miles between major metro areas. All my cars with real antennas pickup one area's stations all the way to another's area. The MM goes to static and cutting out about halfway between cities.

They used to make a small simple antenna booster for car radios.
They plug inline into the antenna wire and the radio and need a hot +12V wire and ground.
Not very expensive and give a few dB gain.

Tried that long, long ago, there's a thread somewhere on MM.net about it. Basically it made reception even worse.

You know, as with any other modification done to Marauders, you can always add your own attractive, power antenna

Ya know, I could see people from more rural areas having a problem, but where I'm at I have no problem whatsoever.
Maybe the Crown Vic got a better rear window antennae.:D

As for the 2006 Crown Victoria, They should be building them after 8/22. I thought that they are build them as we speak. I was wrong.
BTW, CVPIs and taxis get 17" steel wheels this year. I still haven't seen a pic of them yet, though.

I'm pretty sure the fact that the 2005 GM/CV had the rear 1/4 external antenna had NOTHING to do with function.
Ford was just looking for some lil' insignificant way where they could truthfully say ...
No the 2005's do NOT look exactly like the 2004's(yea certainly stretching it no doubt but technically true).
Funny how years ago ... cars changed almost every year or usually no more than 2-3 yrs & there were 3x more choices in interior colors & not just the all too common forms of tan - a light grey & if you're really really LUCKY ... the choice of a DARK grey or black.
My opinion external mount vs built in the rear glass ...
Neutral.
Guess I play my own music more often than not to worry about radio stations all that much. I really got into talk radio(comedy) when I came down here. Was up to like 3 or 4 fav shows ... but can't get them all here anymore. Down to about (2) that I can still get here ... one I found just a month ago.

I have little doubt it had a lot to do with cost. That ugly rear 1/4 antenna I'm sure cost much less thah the rear window glass antenna.

West Point has 2005 GM GS for $16,777 and like 10 to choose from!

XM all the way! Oh and the 6 disc changer and the MP3 player. But you have to love the glass mount antenna for aesthetics.
