Hello All! I appologize now, as I'm sure this issue has been discussed in great detail. I'm looking to purchase a supercharger kit for my own install and am not sure which to get? I'm stuck unsure which kit, Trilogy or F.I.T. procharger would be best? I have a stock '03 and plan to do it myself. I would appreciate any comments from those who have installed either kit and your experiences. Thanks in advance!

There all good,All you have to do is a search and then research what you think would be best for you. :D

I think the best way for you to get this information is to use the search option. Just put in the word supercharger hit the enter button, pull up a chair and be sure to bring plenty to drink and possibly a razor to keep your beard off of the key-board.

Or we can help him with a PM providing our thoughts. I bet some folks on this list have actually installed a couple of different versions so they may have real experience to share.

Only one person has installed both. Carfixer. My advice is to contact him with your questions/goals. He's the only person who can give you unbiased comments on both.

People have approached this topic with hesitency, and that's understandable since there's a lot of potential for knockdown dragout debates about superchargers. However, you've asked for opinions of those who HAVE installed a supercharger on their Marauder themself, and I happen to be one of the several board members here who HAS done that. Therefore I will answer you about the supercharger that I've installed, and w/out making any negative comments about the other superchargers.

I also have a 2003 Marauder, and when the car had 11,000 miles on it, I installed the Trilogy supercharger on it myself. I now have 31,000+ miles on it, and I still love it, and I haven't had any problems at all. I'm a slow and methodical worker. I take my time with things, and pay great attentioin to detail, and it took me 30+ hours to install the Trilogy kit. I was at it for most of the week. But I didn't have any major hassles with the installation, and that Trilogy installation manual was the absolute best manual that I've ever seen or used in my life.

Nothing I've ever seen compares to the Trilogy installation manual. Out of it's 144 pages, it has color pictures of the supercharger, and Marauder parts that you'll be working on in atleast 100 of those 144 pages, along with diagrams and sketches on almost all the rest of them. It takes you through every single little step of the installation process. If you're not drinking during the installation, and you don't decide to start skipping over pages here and there, I don't see how you can go wrong with this manual. It's that good.

The Trilogy kit also comes with a chip which contains a complete engine tune, and going to an engine tuner later on after the installation is NOT mandatory at all. After 20,000 hard supercharged miles on my Marauder, I'm still running it hard simply with the engine tune that came with the Trilogy chip. And w/out any problems. I'm more satisfied with this product than I've ever been with any other hi-perf products that I've purchase for this car, or other cars I've had. I never thought that I'd install a supercharger on any car, until I had a PDF file of the Trilogy installation manual sent to me, and I looked at it. And once I saw it, I knew right away that I can do the installation. There aren't even any highly technical tools required to do it.

If you call Trilogy, I'm sure they would be very glad to e-mail you a PDF file of this manual. Below is a list of the tools that are required for the installation that I've taken from page 6 of the Trilogy manual......

All the base kits are so relatively equal, and produce relatively equal performance, I have to ask how much do you want to spend? You can get supercharged for under 5 grand, if you can do the install yourself. If you have to buy the install too (and there's nothing wrong with that), take a look at install time? Figure labor at approximately 75.00 per hour, and add it up?

If being S/C'ed for the lowest possible cost is your only criteria, then I believe Procharger is the lowest price kit.

You don't tell us what your criteria is; except that you will install yourself. Procharger has an excellent kit, Dennis Reinhart sells 2 different kits (water and air intercooler) Trilogy sells a very popular kit.

If I was installing the kit myself, a few hours of work more or less would not be my criteria for selecting a kit. The cost would matter, the appearance would matter, the existing mods on your car matter, how the kits develop power would matter....like I've already said, how long it takes to install (on a self-install) ought to be irrelevant.

If you tell us more about what you are looking for , maybe we can be of further assistance. Best wishes.

Ask yourself:

Do I want my performance increase down low in the RPM range or in the upper end of the RPM range?

Is a stock appearance important?

How much can I spend?

With the answers to these questions, you will have your answer.

If you are looking to really push your carand then maybe do even more to it after you super charge it like many of us then I would say you really need to look at what each kit has to offer and then try to drive a few of the,

If you are looking at just a S/C and nothing else all the kits work wonders. As Billy says with a 144 page instruction manual a lot of guess work is eliminated. For some folks time is money.

Another criteria to consider...I am not going to rehash whose is best, faster, bigger, prettier, etc. But consider this, over 100 Trilogy Kits sold and installed to very satisfied customers. Find out how many of the other kits have been sold. While i dont know exact numbers of the others, it is safe to say all of them combined are still only a fraction compaired to the number of Trilogy kits. That must mean something. Everyone criticizes that the Trilogy kit may cost $500 more than another, then why is everyone buying it? You must be getting more for that extra money you spent for the kit. You are buying into a "family". Trilogy takes care of its customers more than any other company I have dealt with, customer service almost to a fault! But that is good if you are one of their customers. Ask people that have each kit and see why others are buying the Trilogy kit more than any other kit.

drdt340, Thanks for condsidering F.I.T./Procharger as one of your supercharging options.

My suggestion is to drive both kits if you can.

Alot of people talk about our kit and compare it to others but have never driven our kit.

Three of our customers drove other supercharging options before they bought our kit.

If you PM me your location, I will let you know if we have anything close in your area to drive.

Thanks, Greg

Not to mention F.I.T.'s kit just recently came out..which is why fewer units are out there...see my other post.

Dave, I am curious as to what States these other cars are in. It would be nice to know in case someone wanted to ride in both cars.

We have cars in the following States:

What I'd really like to know is which, if any, of these Marauder SCs are currently residing here
in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. I generally like the factory look of the Trilogy kit, but I would
be strongly influenced towards the first kit that gains that coveted CARB EO number...

Well, thanks to everyone who put in their two cents for my original dilema. The car will remain pretty much stock after putting in the supercharger. I have a potential problem in that I'm in California where 91 octane is the best gas out here. I was curious if these Trilogy Kits are tuned using 91 octane or if any of the owners of these Trilogy Kits are currently using 91 with no detonation? I would hate to have to lug a case of octane boost in the trunk for each fill up!

Bradley G

Any of the Power adders can be tuned to run good, on 91 octane.

Trilogy has sold at least 2 or 3 cars to people in California.

If you have any questions about the cars and octane in CA, please contact Jerry Barnes. He will answer any questions/concerns you may have about this.
