No just comparing flow of the jlt to k&n to determine which one to buy.

WOW, nobody on the board has a JLT CAI. Well i guess that makes up my mind which one to buy, I was hoping to support a vendor here. Well off to ebay.

Perhaps contacting the vendor directly would be your best bet? Maybe even posting the question in their forum so JLT is sure to see it?

I wanted to talk to a person who has purchased the kit to ask other ?s as well through PM so i would not start a thread about which is better K&N or JLT. I did not want to talk to the vendor because of the additional ?s i had.

TX,

I have the JLT kit and I assure you, HOME DEPOT is going to cost you more. I thought about goingthe same route as you have but Jay did his homework and it is definitly one of the better pick ups I have. Even if the performance gain is minimal, the sound is worth it. Your Marauder will sound like a beast when you hit it.

Got a JLT also and I'm very pleased with it. The kit is complete and instructions leave nothing to guess at. As soon as I started pulling out of the driveway I could already feel a difference. And like Big House said, it sounds incredible when you give it WOT. I've heard some criticism about the product from others, but I haven't experienced anything adverse with it. Some say it rubs against the heat liner on the hood, but mine doesn't. I believe it's a matter of how you align the fittings to point the kit downward.

Have you tried the JLT forum?

I am not speculating about anything that is why i want people WITH a JLT to repond so i can ask them ?s about their kit. You will be amazed at what people will say about a product when everybody on the board is not seeing their response. I am not trying to make my own JLT kit from Home Depot. I want to use the kit and make my own cold air box that is why i asked for the filter size so i can figure what size of a box i need. I went to buy the JLT from Innovative and got all the way through the order to the final confirmation and for some reason the toal was over a $1000. I looked and found that i was getting charged over 900 for state tax somehow. I dont know what happened so i canceled the order and emailed JLT and asked for a price on the system without the heatshield since i will be making my own box and Tucker would not sell me just the kit minus the heat shield but Innovative sells it without the shield. But their order form is messed up on the total like i stated above. I have a call into another CAI manufacturer and will touch base with him tomarrow about the possibility of another CAI option.

Thank you for the pics Defyant, i think the jlt looks like it could be a stock piece since mine would of been black and that would make the intake tube setup look like the top rad coolant lines carrying the same look of black pipe and black rubber. Hopefully i will be able to get something.

It's much easier to get a hold of him by phone than through the website. I call him from Canada and he's always willing to talk to a customer.

You never asked me if I would sell it with out the shield, you asked me to include shipping.
If there was a mis comunacation in the emails I apologise, but to order a kit without parts you will need to call as the web site is set up for the complete kit.

Hey CRUZ, what's up my friend, long time no hear... It's hard not to jump in on a JLT thread isn't it???
Love ya!

I am interested in the CAI for the 2003 Marauder and have a couple of ?s. what is the size of the air filter outlet dia, outside dia, and length. and do you sell it without the heat shield and if so how much. Is there a discount for MERCURYMARAUDER.NET members in price or shipping. Thank you.
Greg

Seems like a communication problem.

As many will tell you, I will do/sell what ever my customer wants/needs.

For any custom order the best and fastest thing to do is call. In less then 60 seconds all questions can be answered. I must have breezed over your email too fast and miised part of the questions.

The website is set up the way "most" would buy the kit, but as I said I can sell it any way you like.

Sorry for the confusion.

I also have the JLT set up. I ordered mine to inlcude just the tube itself and exclude the filter and sheild as I already had a Pro-M meter I wanted to keep. 5 minutes on the phone with Jay had me all squared away!!

Call him. Its the best way!

ordered mine last week, installed it Saturday, took less than an hour and though most folks won't need them, the instructions were dead on.
I'm totally happy, no rubbing, everything fit, and from a seat of the pants standpoint it feels perkier and the sound is great.
