Got the 300A I recently purchased fully checked out by the local dealer and found two things missing.

1) the passenger side air bag. It hadn't been in an accident but the bag had (at one time) been replaced by a large pop out video screen and entertainment system. The indicator lamp on the inst. cluster had been taped over (if you take the bulb out a buzzer goes off and doesn't stop). The wires and tray were there behind the fake airbag fascade, but the rest had been removed. (The selling dealer had a proper air bag assy reinstalled after my discovery.)

2) the subwoofer assy is missing from the trunk area. The cable is just laying there. It appears they had installed very large sound system where the storage tray in the bottom of the trunk would have been.

Anyway the bass in the factory system as it current stands is pretty disappointing. The question is what should I do--rebuy and reinstall the factory system (which is probably pricey) or take a different route?

I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks.

May have to check out a salvage yard to find those parts cheap. If you bought new, they would be over a grand. Try this site: www.car-part.com . The site won't show the sub but it could show the airbag.

If it were me, I'd install an aftermarket Sub in the vacated location. The factory sub is only fair IMO and you can pick up a small 10" enclosed sub with an amp for less than it will cost to replace the factory assembly. You'll also get more base response.

do a search on subs, there are several ideas there. I recently had a box built with an amp, shoudl run you about $500-600 depends on the amp though.

If interested I have my factory sub/enclosure/amp unit and might consider selling it, PM with an offer.

Agreed. I'd also recommend going aftermarket, a 10" should fit in this area with the amp right next to it. The factory sub is a total POS and rattles more than it provides bass. Even when you get it to stop rattling, it is pretty weak.
