Hey guys, i just want to share a project i'm working on for my marauder.
Im going to be putting a audi/bmw bi xenon projector into my headlight for better lighting. Im using bi xenon so i have flashers and highbeams. This type of mod will be far better than any HID kit, plus it wont blind on comming traffic. I just finished this up in my 01 jetta, with the blacked out look. I think the marauder will look even better with this set up. Here are some pics of the upgrade in the jetta. I did use 3000k bulbs in there, they are better for all weather driving. But in the marauder, i'd be using 6000k philips ultinons.
The whole project will probably cost about $500
$200 bulbs
$150 ballast
$150 projectors
And about 12 hours of "customization" Once im complete i'll let you all know. But for now, enjoy the pics. The last pic is the "shroud" i used to cover up the projector.

A very clean looking final product, bravo!.

What are the chances of melting our MM headlight pod?

Sarge, I am sure I can find a way to melt your headlight pods without spending $500.

In fact, I'll drive up there and do it for half that if you want.

If Need be, However It will be a conversion that can be easily reversed.

It wouldnt melt any wires/housings. THese bulbs actually only run at 35w. So it uses much less power. I would be using 2 relays, so you dont put a strain on the headlight switch. If, my project turns out good, and no major problems, i might consider makeing a few of these. Biggest roadblock is knowing if i can safely seperate the front lens from the housing. Usually baking in an oven at 250F for 10 minutes does the trick. I'll keep you all posted.

Nice work on the Jetta. I love these type of customizing projects - especially when they involve items not intended for a vehicle like the lamp. I'll add this project to the list that I think one day I'll do but never will.

Where did you get all the BMW parts? From the dealer or parts yard?

It was actually audi projectors, and i get it all off of ebay.

I just ordered my bi xenon projectors from a bmw x5 today. So the project is underway.

I dont know why the pics stopped working. Here are a couple of the jetta.

The marauder project is underway, i will keep you all posted. Taking the lens off is completely easy and safe, and the setup if 100x better to retro than my jetta, I'll keep you all posted for that.
