Need help with MS-IE v6.0.x

I am using MS Internet Explorer as my browser. I have always been able to have multiple windows open at any one time.

Out of the blue this morning, after clicking on a link in one of our threads...I am no longer able to have multiple windows open. If I am viewing our site, and click on my IE icon to open another window, it closes the active window, and opens another. I just lost what I wa doing there.

I reset my web settings, deleted cookies, deleted temp files, and ran spy sweeper.

Any one know what's going on?

My ideas...

Go to "Tools" -> "Internet Options..." -> "Advanced" Tab -> "Restore Defaults" Button.

If that does not work, visit Microsoft's website and upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer.

Do you have automatic updates turned on? If not, turn them on and download what they give you.

If that does not work, Does Microsoft offer a full complete download of IE 6.x from their website? If so I would cut the Internet Explorer Folder from Program Files and paste it on the desktop. Then download the full version and install it.

You might also try right clicking on the link and selecting "open in a new window".

Did it popup with a Microsoft error reporting window or it just closed the existiing window and opened a new one?

There are been a few IE updates for XP and Windows 2000 in the last week or so. I had a problem on a laptop with the main Marauder page but if I went into the forum index, it wouldn't crash. It was only the Marauder home page. I went to other forums and it was fine. I think it might have to do with the new timer for MV III because that was pretty much the only change on the main page in recent weeks. Not sure though.

Funny how software just farks up every now and again. :shake:

P.S. You'll love the cool extensions you can incorporate into firefox, such as adblock or automatic, but configurable popup blockers. I love surfing the web again! And best of all, it's not a resource hog like IE.
