Well tonight one of favorite people and his wife showed up at the Dream Cruise. Steve and Carol Babcock stopped by to see everyone. It is always nice to welcome the "father" of the Marauder. Anyway, he was driving what was suppose to be anothert performance vehicle from Ford. It was the Ford Escape that was slightly mentioned at MVII. It was sc***** due to production being shifted to the Hybrid Escape. Anyway, here are pictures of it. Yes, those are MM wheels.

Too bad.. That would have been interesting.

Thanks again to Steve for putting up with all my questions.

Thanks for posting those. I wondered what it would be like. I suppose it wouldn't be right to promote that while promoting a hybrid version.
Is it permanently 'shelved'?

Thanks Mike.

Whew...When I saw that the engine was sideways  I was worried, that maybe Ford imported it from overseas.

It's a CUV, not an SUV  I know lots of people like thoose things but for me it has to be the real deal like an Explorer. Other wise it's just a tall unibody car that's waiting to tip over! :drive:

Its because they had too many cowbells in the back!

Seriously, the previous gen explorers were often overloaded, did you know that a Taurus wagon had a higher payload than an explorer of similar vintage? People assumed since it was a SUV, they could load it up. Look at the accidents that happened....5 people sitting in the cargo area, roof rack on the truck with luggage.

I'm not saying it was a poor design, but often times the truck was overloaded or loaded improperly.

not to mention tires underinflated.

Still they have been the best selling SUV since their introduction, and still blow the competition away.

When you are on top you are a target. Just like the CVPIs

I would think so, considering the Adrenaline has been green lighted for production. Two hot rod small SUV's at the same time at Ford? Nah.
