I would have posted earlier but i had to clear it through the MODS, and i also had to order my set first. Well as i was browsing for parts on the web i found that Summit Racing sells Stainless works exh. But the web site said nothing for the MM. So i called to see if they can special order from SW and they will. I just place the order for the 1 5/8 primary 3 inch collector ss headers with hiflow cats and 2 1/2 inch lead pipes to mufflers and 2 magnaflow 14356 muffs for a total of 1298.54 shipped. They will be in by the end of Sept. I got the price on the other setups which are as follows:
Part # mauhdr which is the headers 1 5/8 prim x 3 inch collector for 721.39 plus 8 bucks s/h

Part# maucat which is the headers hi flo cats and 2.5 inch lead pipes for 1097.69 plus 8 for s/h

Part# maucb which is from behind the header all the way back including the tips for 805.39 plus 8 for s/h ( check stainless site for more description on whether it is for the cats or off road pipe).

MPE 14356 magnaflow flow through muffs 96 ea.
I know some of you were intersted in these so i hope i helped you out.
The parts are not listed on the site yet so you have to call.
Best part is i used my summit card and have no interest for a year:banana2:

When you order tell them they just got added to the system today and give them the part # i gave and tell them it is a special order.

Also on the SW web site they have the headers with off road pipe for those interested, just get the Part# from the SW site and call summit to get a price and they will add it to their system as well.:)
I did not get that in the system because i forgot to tell them about it.

The parts are now on the Summit site:
STW-MAUHDR IS THE HEADERS
STW-MAUCAT IS HEADERS, CATS, AND MUFFLER INLET PIPES
STW-MAUEX IS EVERYTHING FROM BEHIND THE HEADER BACK INCLUDING TIPS

Just type the part # in the search box. Has anyone ordered any yet.:)

Go to the gallery on here and type in stainless in the search and you will get the pics of the complete system. From the description on SW site it seems to be a 3inch system back to the muffs.

No, bad. You need both parts i listed to get the whole kit, headers all the way back. it comes to 1527 plus 8 bucks shipping and this is everything. I ordered the stw-maucat for 1097 and will get the headers and high flow cat and premuffler pipes. then i bought some 14 inch magnaflows 14326 for 75 ea for a total of 1268 shipped. I will use my stock tailpipes. Now this kit that i bought has the same components as the kooks kit when at a group buy of 1250 PLUS shipping.

Hey there,
Let me be the first one to beg you to get your Trilogy car dyno'd before and after this mod! :D

JeffLet me see. I had mine dynoed before and after the full Stainless Works exhaust (headers and all) with the Trilogy supercharger. The dyno sheet is in my garage, but I haven't posted the hp/tq @rpm sheets . They show that the maximum torque gain was:
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 192pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=256 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=4 width=64><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64 height=17>RPM</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>BEFORE</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>AFTER</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>GAIN</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17 x:num>6100</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>299.1</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>349</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>49.9</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

and the maximum HP gain was:
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 192pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=256 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=4 width=64><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64 height=17>RPM</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>BEFORE</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>AFTER</TD><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=64>GAIN</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17 x:num>6100</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>347.4</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>405.3</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #ece9d8; BORDER-TOP: #ece9d8; BORDER-LEFT: #ece9d8; BORDER-BOTTOM: #ece9d8; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>57.9</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

However, the rpm rose from 6,500 max with the stock exhaust to 6,800 with the Stainless Works and the HP climbed up to 408.6 @ 6,800 vs 360.9 @ 6,500.

The average HP gain throughout the powerband was 37.7 HP. While the average torque gain throughout the powerband was 38.74 lb/ft.

The rest of the setup is stock Trilogy with the 9.5 lbs of boost.

These are the hard numbers from the Dynojet chassis Dyno at Stropes Speed Shop in Washington, PA.

Hope this helps.

Since my Trilogy can push the air through the motor and now the Stainless works can let it out i just need to work on my CAI to let the air in. And since I just won a 4 inch maf adapter with a s&b powerstack filter off of ebay for 25 bucks I am half way there.:banana2:

Hey G-MAN, how much of the Exh. system is 3 inch.Everything from the collector up to the pipes over the axle. The pipes over the axle are 2.5" since 3" wouldn't fit there. There're pictures of the complete system in my gallery.

Your numbers are very pleasing, and what I would expect to see from adding headers and a full 2.5" OD, or, better exhaust system to our 281 CID engines, when a power adder is in place.

Honestly now, N/A Marauders would not see these performance gains, therefore I could not recommend them to any N/A owner who doesn't intend to invest more in his Marauder down the road.

You did well on the dyno, G-Man, because you are supercharged. Any N/A owner adding this kit to their Marauder, and dyno testing their "before and after" stuff, will not see the gains you have. They should think twice, this investment will not pay off, without more mods "down the road."

BTW, my comments apply to the Kook's headers kit too.

That's what I was thinking as well Mac,... My MM will be N/A for the foreseeable future. 3" is a lot pipe!

This is not the exhaust solution I am seeking.

Hey Mac, good point but dont forget to add the CAI, larger t/b, bigger air filters, larger MAF, and plenum spacers to the list as well. But you have to realize that 90% of the people that do exhaust upgrades do it for the sound and bling factor. People that change out muffs are looking for a more aggressive sound more than power. And when they get them in stainless they are out for the bling factor. People that change out for headers are looking for a cetian sound and the ones that get them coated are out for the bling factor more than power. Any mod that has to do with unrestricting air flow will benifit a forced induction car more than a n/a car. Maybe someone on here can post a dyno of a n/a car b4 and after a full exhaust upgrade. To say that a full exhaust upgrade is not worth the money needs to be looked at this way. I spent 6k for a trilogy that got me an additional 130-140hp give or take. That comes out to an average of $44 per HP. Now take a $1500 exhaust upgrade which i personally spent less that 1300 for since i will retain the stock tail pipes. Because as the exhaust travels through the system it cools which in turn condenses the exh. gas which does not require bigger than a 2.25 tailpipe. But anyways for the worst case scenario we will go with 1500, so we take the 1500 for the exhaust and divide it by the $44 per HP that the S/C gives and if a N/A car can get a gain of 34 hp it will be worth the expense as much as a s/c is. So lets see.

You may want to speak with Stainless Works to help you better understand what you need/want, as they may also offer a kit in 2.5". My specific application is using 3" collectors and pipes back into the mufflers. This was a specification that was originally worked out for my car through Stainless Works based on the duty and potential of my application.

BTW, my comments apply to the Kook's headers kit too.Hi MAC,

You mentioned some valid points for anyone to consider with a naturally aspirated MM. Mine does have a Trilogy kit on it and the dyno's show the before and after effects of the full exhaust only. The question was asked for anyone with a Trilogy car to post before and after dyno runs. That is what I have presented and obviously all that I can attest to. It is what it is... so to speak. Good, bad or indifferent.

When we approached Stainless Works to develope a system for my MM, our requirement was very demanding. We approached Stainless Works based on their proven reputation for high quality, excellent quality control, durability and all around attention to detail. (This in no way should be construed to portray Kooks is any less capable.)

My kit is designed for high HP, High TQ, and zero problems with extreme abuse. We also asked for the capability to be able increase the power on the MM at our discretion and needed a system that would comply. It does exactly that. The 3" intermediate pipes on mine are designed to take power levels up to 1,000. HP if we need to go there. Currently, I have been so busy that the garage keeps calling me and wanting to know when I am coming back in to get the new upgraded parts to take my hp up to 500 rwhp (that's the theory, the dyno has to prove it).

Keep in mind that I am not an installer, retailer, or builder. I'm an end user, like the rest of you. I don't get paid for anything (except keeping you all as safe as possible :) ). I'm not here to compare one exhaust system to the other, or to state that any one is better than the other. Ultimately it comes down to the people spending their money. They have to make their own choices on where and what to spend their money on. I did, and all that I can do is provide my facts based on the cards that I have played.

I would encourage anyone wishing to puchase any modification to make their own choices based on facts. It's too easy to spend your money on items that don't work as advertised.

Hey Mac, if a N/A car can get a gain of 34 hp it will be worth the expense as much as a s/c is. You're not including labor, and that should be figured in when making a fair "bang for the buck" evaluation. Even if self installed, your time is worth something. Moreover, no N/A MM is going to see a 34HP gain from headers, we have seen it happen here countless times now, and you're going against the grain of common experience.

Open up the factory exhaust with anything you want, Kook's, SW, FRP Shortys, even Reinhart manifolds, they all use 2.5" OD pipe and X pipe at least to the muffler inlet, and you'll only get so much power from N/A despite the other mods you mention. Bone stock, I'd guess 10-15 HP, 7-10 TQ. Adding all that stuff you mention will get you maybe 20 HP/TQ.

Remember, the SW are full length headers. Remember that opening up the exhaust will cost you some low end power right off the bat, full length is the worst impact to existing power. Hopefully, the owner knows this and plans other mods to follow that will compensate. This is why I said what I did ^ there, just bolting on headers and exhaust can be a performance waste of money, bling and sound aside. Furthermore, opening the MM exhaust system to 3" would be a serious mistake on a N/A car.

I'm researching this myself right now, can't seem to decide if I want the 3" OD option or not. I just crossed the 500 RWHP threshold, don't want to make any more changes right now.

Well Mac, seeing as i only work 10 days a month and i have been a certified mech. for over 10 years i need something to fill in my time :) . Time is money, but i live my life by knowing i have more time than money. I bet you are not keeping track of how much time you are spending on here and researching and multiplying that by your current hourly rate and adding that to the price of something you buy. You are right about people that need to pay to have someone install their mods will have to figure that into their cost. But if they dont know by now, they will take such a huge loss on their investment (the MM) whenever they decide to sell it. But if they are aware of that then they are doing it for the love of the hobby which is great. So each persons situation is different. Would it be a wise investment for someone to buy this product and pay to have it installed on a N/A car just for the HP factor, NO it would not. But it is for the love of the hobby which is why we are all here. I think it is a better investment than spending money on beer and cigs just to spend more money later for meds and hospital visits. So i will always do as much of my own installs as i can. Which the trilogy was 100% me and only took me 3hrs a night for 5 nights. The only thing i will need done on the exhaust is the welding of any joints and that is only because i dont have stailess rod to weld with. It is hard to say whether a n/a car owner will ever get s/c but hopefully they ALL will.
