Not to be doubtful or anything, but how'd you find out? I'm sure ALL want to know!
It's here on BlueOvalNews...

I got it from the Ford employee forum on BON. The line will be shut down the two weeks prior.
There is also a list of the lay-off/ line shut down times for the rest of 2003 production.

Shows what L/M employees know. Took mine in today for the gears. After the usual nice car, how fast is it?, love those wheels crap, the next sentence out of one of the wrenchers was
" you oughtta put it back in storage, Ford isn't making a 2004 model!"
Say's who??
"We work for ford, we should know!"
Service manager was out, left message to call me.
Talked to "sales" rep.
"I can't comment on that yet"
So it goes, on and on.:alone:
OK,
I don't know WTF Job1 is, someone enlighten me please.

Job 1 used to be the FoMoCo quality assurance program. Not sure what the reference is in this thread. Also, on the other site, IMMC, there's talk of discontinuing the MM line in at the end of '04 model year. Any rumblings here?

Basically "Job1" is the first run of vehicles for anew model year.
For 2003 the "300A" was Job1, then in about Oct "Job2" started with the "300B" and traction control.
The decontented 300B seems to be called "2003.75" by the Ford employees

they used the Job1 term for that slogan yes, but it has always meant the "first job"
That rumour has been on IMMC for quite a while, and I suspect may even be the "source" MT referred to.
Until Ford says something official, it's just rumour to me

Unless my glasses slipped--I don't see the MM mentioned at all--just the G/M date of 21/July/03==so where is the MM date?

well their opinion is even different from that silly "blurb" in MT.
Even MT indicates there will be a 2004

There is definitely a 2004 MM (is it any surprise that people at the dealership know nothing about this car?? Thank God for this website!), but MT was right on the money that there will be no MM for 2005 and beyond. The only thing that could possibly change that now would be for sales to go shooting through the roof over the next 6-9 months.

There's plenty of cars to buy. Go buy one and stop worrying. :)
Frankly, the sooner they kill it the cooler it'll be for the current
owners. I don't think we're going to get a deluge of aftermarket
regardless of it being a 2 or 6 year car.

silverbullitt, unless you have some more info, what MT published was simply rumour.
I suspect their "source" was the post on IMMC forums
That said, where will be a 2004, and I do think sales will pick up. People like yourself are proof, and leading the way for the "younger" among us to see the light

I definitely hope sales pick up, at least enough to keep it going and encourage similar cars in the future. This site is great proof that the people who love and appreciate this car really love and appreciate it.
As far as the "dead after 2004" issue... I've said all I can really say about it... I'll let you guys decide for yourselves if it's rumor or truth. Everyone is probably pretty sick of the topic anyway (sorry LML!)
