Here we go again. Tropical Storm (Hurricane?) Katrina will arrive tomorrow some time. Once it crosses South Florida, they're saying it will reform in the Gulf and go slam into northern Florida next week.

Well so much for meeting at the Tower Shops again! Looks like it will have to wait till next week. Speaking of which, I have a five day weekend for Labor Day weekend. Any of you guys want to head up as a group up to Moroso to run the cars? I've been meaning to find out what my ride will do! I was about to walk over to Cobra's house and ask him about it but I figured I should just post it here instead.

After Andrew I dont get that worried over hurricanes. But then again Im in tally right now so I may be singing a different tune if this heads towards me.
I will be in home over Labor Day and moroso is just a few miles away. Since I missed the August meeting and have not met everyone yet I would be up for something over that weekend!
And all you guys close to Lauderdamndale* if you need anything before/after the storm passes (Ice, generator, gas, etc) don't be shy about asking!!

Well, I just got word we're leaving today at 12 to go secure our homes. The Capt. ask a few of us to come in morro to help with anything that comes up. The district I work in is about 20 min north of Ft. Lauderdale so we might see some major activity. Hope all goes well, and that when it goes throught my area it doesnt end up having a second landfall injuring others. See you all in about 72 hrs.

My place is closing up at one. The good news is the my MM is on the lift awaiting parts. This was the same for my Stang back in '99 when Irene came through.

Be careful over there boys. Just spent the morning mowing and securing stuff outside. It's supposed to head this way. Should be a lot of rain and a little wind. Keep me up-to-date?

Roy, you had the car for a week and you are already adding mods? You don't waste time! What you addin? Chip/ pulleys? I may be able to get a chip and K&N intake system in a few months time. Still need a part time job but my college is my number one priority for now.

Wish I would have taken a pic of it right after Charley came thru ...
Then I could take another so everyone could see for themselves.
The self control it's taken NOT to stop every time I go by there ... walk in & say "ummmmm it's been OVER a year ...... WTF ?!?!!!?!?!?!?".

Our prayers are with those of you in Florida, that may be effected by Katrina. Please keep us posted and don't forget about the pets.

At least I still have power! It hasn't been all that bad at all, yet. Hopefully it will remain that way, but we'll see

Well been up since 6 am. Went out to check out the Community , what a mess. We have a 12 acre Club house we had to shut down for safty reason's. Electrical box's by the gates ripped out of the ground, Hugh trees down and fell on a few of the residents home's. I was one of the few people who closed their shutters, I'm glad I did. As far as my home one nice size palm tree down in my yard & 1/2 of my banana tree's are distroyed. Other wise doing fine.

My CVPI looks like a chia pet with all of the leaves on it. Other than that, things are fine here.

Well, the eye went right over my house (go figure). Had a tornado touch down next door, heard and then saw it. Power was restored Sunday monring around 11:30, but I was already on a plane to Kentucky. For something that was supposed to hit well north of Miami and only produce a little rain..... man, what a storm. Lots of trees & powerpoles down, roofs ripped off, etc. Luckily, I only lost the screen on my patio, all else is fine.
PS - Prior to the storm, I had zero trees in my yard. After the storm, several found their way into my yard. Go figure.

Rick, You are a lucky man (again). God was definitely with you that day.

According to CNN, Katrina is taking her revenge onward to several Gulf states. Let's all say a prayer for those about to meet her?

I agree with Mac. Say a few prayers for our gulf coast neighbors. They are about to get clobbered with a very dangerous and deadly storm.
