With the recent discussions on gauges and such, I've been trying to think of other places where additional gauges could be mounted. Has anybody tried using AutoMeter cups like these carbon fiber ones (http://www.jegs.com/photos/100/105/105-2121.jpg) and mounting them to the sides of the gauge panel that's down by the shifter? It looks like these could be mounted to the left and right, secured directly to the removable panel. The only drawback I can see is that they would protude a bit into the passenger space where our knees might hit them.

The cups also come in chrome and plain black, though I think the carbon fiber might fit our interiors better.

Thoughts?

I would need to see a picture, like someone holding it there. Another idea used by the F-250 folk is an Overhead Console Pod.

I'm tempted to buy one just so I can hold it in place and get a better feel for it. Just one mounted on the driver's side might make more sense.

Do you have a picture of the overhead console pod?
