Good luck up there...evacuating is best when you live on the coast, that's for sure! I said a prayer earlier this evening when I saw the projected track of the storm.

We are evacuating. Just heard the bad news, 20-25 feet of water expected, winds 160 MPH , gust's higher and might still get stronger. They are saying most of the building's will be leveled. Everything within 85 mile's of the Mississippi River is in the eye of the storm. My sister in law is making a mistake of staying in her home in Kenner which is with in 50 miles of the Mississippi River. My prayers are with everyone their.

I will pray for your sister.
Please tell her to bring an axe when she goes in the attic. During Betsy manny drowned in their attic!
My neighbors are old and staying. We are 15' above sea level so I gave them the keys to our house.
We are in Lafayette.

Wow,Im watching this on the weather channel and you are very wise to get out of town.My prayers are for the people who have nowhere to go.They said they will open the superdome for those people but a catagory 5 just scares the hell out of me.Also on the weather channel,They were showing people leaving town on U.S.10 and in the shot there is(I think)a black Marauder with a Cruisetaker like spoiler on the back. When the weather channel goes to the top of the hour they might show it agian.Good luck to all of you.

It's now has winds at 175 MPH with gusts over 213 mph. expected over 25 feet of water min. The I-10 main road is at a stand still for over 3 hrs. My sister in law is staying in her wooden house in Kenner La. with her boy friend & pets. She said the roads are at a stand still for hours & no one has Gas.

Zoltan,
At least talk her in to going to someone's concrete block home, a brick chuch or school. I would not want to be in a frame house in that kind of wind.
Best of Luck,
Don

She's putting up shutters right Cobra? She should atleast board up the windows and put tape over them at a minimum.

Billy,
Barry here, I am in St Paul, MN. Phone is 504-628-8724. Fly and MM are doing great. I have not heard from Donald. Limited to computer use but write me back. So glad you are OK. I think my 4 houses are lost. My company survived and is working with the GOV to help get ships off of ground in the river. CALL
Barry
