Does anyone have any pictures or specs for the SHO Ranger that never was? If you have a pic or two can you please post them. Thanks.

So many "woulda-coulda-shouldas" about the SHO motor... imagine what it could have done for Ford Probes, or how interesting a wagon would have been.

I had heard years ago from what I considered a reliable source (for that's worth... I can't even remember who it was!) that Ford's contract with Yamaha limited them to using the V6 in only the Taurus sedan. No wagons, no Mercurys, no other choices.

I never understood why... maybe Yamaha was trying to make deals with other auto makers?... but that would explain why the other SHO variants never happened.

I heard it was originally going to go into a supercar something like the FordGT40. It was tested to 13000 rpm, great motor - I owned two -one auto one manual, I'd still own them both if the were rwd

Ahh, but one other use for the SHO engine DID take place. 7 of them to be percise.
