Has anyone else had problems with the auto-dim feature on the rearview mirror?
It seems that mine doesn't want to work half the time.
Is it a simple fix like a loose wire or bad connection that I could fix myself?

Thanks

They told me it was my window tint.

I haven't had any issues with mine. I'd try cleaning the connection.

Ever since I got my window's tinted it doesn't seem to be responding as well. I guess the window tint brings the incoming light % down low enough for it to not turn on all the way.

The interior mirror has a light sensor that faces foward and and another one that faces rearward. The forward sensor is evaluating outside ambient light conditions, it won't dim the mirror during the day, only at night.
The rearward sensor looks for headlights. When a headlight is shining on the sensor, the mirror dims. Since window tinting greatly reduces the headlight shining on the sensor, the mirror doesn't dim or at least doesn't dim as much.

If you want to see if the mirror actually works, put a piece of opaque tape on the sensor that faces front of vehicle and shine a flashlight on the sensor that faces your rear window.

Thanks for the tip ahess77. I'll go and test mine now. I don't think it's working and don't think it ever did.

I followed your instruction AHESS77.....Nothing. I then checked the connection plug on the back side of the mirror...hmmm seems a little loose so I pushed it in and jigggled it arounde a little bit....:rasta: I then retested the mirror with the flashlight....NOW IT'S WORKING! Cool! Thanks Buddy, I dodged the dealer once again....
Did I say DODGEd? :nono:
