Hey, anyone in the Iowa, Southern Wisconsin, or Western Illinois (and Southern Minnesota) area interested in some last of the year 1/4 mile racing, some car friends and I are planning on heading to Tri-State Raceway on Saturday, October 15th. Please join us if you are interested. Cool weather could give some good times. I am just looking to get some baseline runs done. It is one of their last T&T dates of the year.

Here is a link to their website. They are on Highway 20 more towards the Eastern side of the state (Iowa).

I should know more for sure on Saturday when we all get together for a cruise and bonfire, but if it is like past trips, they will probably get on the road from Des Moines around 8:00am. That puts them at Tri-State around 11:00am or so depending on how they drive and traffic. I will be leaving from just north of Ames and head straight up I-35 to Highway 20 and take that straight over (now that it is finally finished all the way to I-35). I will plan on being there around 11:00-11:30am myself. Spend a couple hours there, get a couple of runs in, and head back home.

Haven't done it since May...time to bump up my timeslip status a few notches (I hope). Count me in.

The Cruise and Bonfire is just with some local car buddies on Saturday. It was originally the Iowa F-Body Group, but only about half the people have F-Bodies any more. Most have stepped up to C5 Corvettes and me with the Marauder.

Then Sunday is Cruise to the Woods. I will try to get a lot of pictures. We are actually heading straight to the fairgrounds to get good parking and watch all the cars roll in.

I learned that having at least 100hp less and weighing about 700-900 pounds more than the rest of the cars is not a lot of fun... ;)

I also learned that the first time you go to WOT after going from stock tune to Lidio's XCal2 93 octane tune should not be with the wife sitting in the front seat video taping the cruise, and the 8-year old and 3 1/2 month year old sitting in back. The wife ended up getting some nice video of the headliner for a brief moment and the 8-year old had to gently put the 3 1/2 month year old's head back in the car seat (rear facing car seat).

Yes, looking to get some runs in to get hard numbers of how she runs. I really think it runs quite nicely. Then I will be getting some video of the others that will be there.

I like that name: Silver Bullet
