They have some nice pics of this car over at CrownVic.net Its a damn

cool car. To bad our Marauder's did not have that much punch stock. They

said it has just over 600hp at crank. I wonder what that transfers to the RW?

540 RWHP ?

Heck, I bet Jerry Barnes would have tossed 'em the keys to his. (so long as they didn't drive it through the front window)

The same article was in Hot Rod.
Based on their comments, they are still clueless about the Marauder, it's capabilities, that people actually bought it, who bought it, the interest in it, and what people have done to it.
It's interesting they compare this CVPI, which is only a special purpose, special project vehicle, and not a concept vehicle, with the production Marauder. Also interesting is the mention of CVN in the article, yet despite discussion and comparison with the Marauder, no mention at all of mercurymarauder.net.

edited to add: their trashing of the Marauder may have a good side, the outcome being some very surprised 'challengers' :)

:)Yep, I think you're right about that. BTW, I think that with an automatic transmission, 600 HP at the crank translates to about 500 HP at the wheels. What I was a bit surprised about was that it stated that they put a transmission cooler in the trunk (did I read that right?)

Yes you read that right.
It also says they bought the engine off eBay!

The car was assembled as a special project by some Ford engineers for some magazine sponsored driving event, not as a 'concept' vehicle. So it really is just an oddball one-off.
I get the impression that not too much they used was 'new parts' from Ford.
