Looks like Summit Racing has jumped on the Tornado bad wagon.

Give the people what they want. It's amazing what people will buy.

I was gonna ask about the spark plugs at one point after I saw the ad in Popular Mechanics but I doubt anyone here has used them. They also ran an article featuring 6 of the gas-saver products and everyone of them did nothing and a couple could potentially cause damage to the vehicle.

Anyway if anyone wants to dig through their information: http://e3sparkplugs.com/aboutus.asp I'm interested in any real results from independent testers.

Someone here has to at least know someone that bought one, do tell.

I love the magazine ads for that crap, it has the company president giving a thumbs up saying "IT REALLY WORKS!"

The worst is that sell out Sam Memolo - remember the Shadetree Mechanic guy? He's a ptichman for tornado now. Ever see the new "Two Guys Garage" on speed channel? It's supposed to be a How-To show but they skip the work and push products, it's like an informercial.

YUCK!

Well, these people will be upset when the vanes break off and lodge in your throttle body or even worse a head!

Yea. I'm convinced they can say that without someone yelling "False advertising!" is because it does change the air rotation on the intake side. That rotation does nothing of significance.

Yea, "two guys garage" is basically an infomercial now. And it's the same stuff that's been done on other shows! Like that other show, where all it is is a front to paint things with duplicolour. "Gee! What do we have that looks like it needs some paint? Ohh! Let's paint the dashboard!"

Sam always treated Dave Bowman like a bastard stepchild anyway.

I installed two in series and have increased my mileage about 4 mpg. I am working on way to fit one to my exhaust to increase the airflow there. This will be less expensive than a new Kooks system. :bs:

You also need to install these spinner thingies in the exhaust tips too (see: http://www.shoplaser.com/index.html)??? :-)

There was a guy on the Mustang Bullitt forums who lived in Canada and did a dyno test with one of these. He contacted a company in california they shipped their product out for free and I believe they even covered the cost of the dyno. They seemed to truly believe in their product and wanted a chance to prove it. It was a very good write up and I really dont feel like doing a search again to try and find it. In the end he did not make power he actually lost a little. It was not a bilge pump like the ones on ebay it actually looked kind of neat. I think the company said that on smaller displacement motors they had seen gains and if they had the car in person and built a kit for the specific car they may have been able to show some improvement.

Supposedly the "swirl" effect will make air move faster around corners in the intake, but I haven't seen anyone prove/claim that other than the infomertials. I tried one of these about 10 years ago when the price was only $21.99 (it still looks the same) and it didn't work. I even tried the fuel line magnet and it didn't work either...theory is right, materials wrong. The only fuel gimmick I ever had work is adding Acetone to your fuel.

I doubt it. Maybe his vision is being clouded with Tornado endorsement money and he mis-took the honeycomb air filter/straightener Ford is using in some new intake tracts for a Tornado.

That man is a fool. How low on morals can you be to trick people you're claiming to help into buying some worthless crap like that. He's a pushman out to make a buck for himself and that's it.

I'm not saying making a buck is a bad thing, but plenty of others have found ways to profit off actually helping people, not pushing snake oil and acting like you really believe it works. He's a fool and I have just about no respect for him.

I found it, the testing a guy on the Bullitt board did on a similar product.
His thread (http://www.imboc.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=33290&forum=2) Pics on Page 4

Interpret it how you would like. Or you could even try bolting on a leaf blower and a switch to activate when necessary. Dyno vid of Leaf Blower (http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=AB544E3B-5DFF-416D-9CFD-A1AD23CA9564&term=leaf%20blower&p=0) :burnout:

Exactly. They're a retailer trying to make money. There are a ton of worse ricer products in their catalogue.

I'm sure the owner of Summit Racing doesn't use a 'tornado' in his Ferrari daily driver.
