OK, here's the 411 on the tire sizes you need to get. I got great traction, better handling, better road noise, etc...
18 99Y Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico's
255/45-18 (Jaguar XKR) and
255/50-18 (Bently Arnage) rear.
BUY THESE TIRES... who needs slicks?

Those are excellent tires. I changed to the Pirelli P Zero on my 2001 LS what an incredible difference it made. The handling was 100% better. I just wonder with the shorter sidewall whether it will leave a big gap on a stock susp. car.

how many diapers will I have to forgoe for my new baby in order to afford these?
if diaper calculations make your head spin [just the word 'diaper' makes my skin sorta tingle!] , just post the approximate price if you have it handy.

The height of the tire should be the same as stock, the only difference is the wider tire tread. It's the same process as a plus one or plus two application.

The burn out videos were taken in January... the temp was 30 degrees, when it gets over 65ish these tires wont spin they just stick and stick and stick....

Gonzo,
I don't think the stock 24555r18 would be the same height as a 25550r18 Pzero tire.

I'm almost positive they will fit with very little size difference..

My understanding is, that as long as you keep the front to rear ratio the same (245/55 (r) and 235/50 (f), the width and height shouldn't matter. Therefore the tire size spec'd by mensrea should work on a stock MM? Correct?
I guess there might by a slight difference in the Speedometer reading, but shouldn't affect much.

we're talking less than a 1% delta between the ones Kenny Brown uses and stock

OK, this is gonna hurt some feelings......and it has NOTHING to do with 3 generations employed by BFG and Firestone.
The pirelli tires have a SHORT lifespan. Do some research, I have nothing bad to say about performance....just life, and warranties.
The fellows at tirerack will admit it if they have any conscience. I have a set on a pininfarina spider, but it's an ITALIAN car, that's what it came with. My own Italian car mechanic, yes he is Italian, Mr. Galatti will say......."they make a great automobile, but they never made a great tire, they should stick to what they know best....fast cars"
There is a sticky solution out there, and it will have a better warranty, and a better life span, and best of all....American!
Before a number of you spend BIG BUCKS on a tire because someone say's "it's the stickiest tire ever..." , I implore you to check the companies warranty and track record, so you don't get burned 10k miles down the road, and out alot of $$ with no recourse.
Stickey=soft compound=short life. Keep em on race cars

But....if your pockets are deep, and performance is ALL you want...buy 'em

Judging from mensrea's numbers, he is approaching "race car" status. Besides, I do not think that mensrea ever suggested that his car was powered or designed with economics of operation in mind. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

There...Now I've said it...And I believe it myself, Martin just beat me to it.
Cruz...for some of us here, (and maybe just a few), maximum performance is the central focus of our labors. We may be taking different paths, exploring different technologies, testing different theories, but we're all sharing in the exploration of a single and great automobile. We just have different stuff to explore, to each his own.
The MM is an automotive lab on wheels, and I can't think of any other experiment ever, that has accomplished this, and in this scale. Thousands of identical cars, spread out over America in different climates, yet gathered here in one connection to all others. When, ever, has this happened before? You would think at least one of the major aftermarket suppliers would have latched on to us by now, just for the value of identical test beds, and cross section of drivers and climates.
Anyway...I've been a Goodrich fan since my first Radial T/A in the mid '70s, and I love the tire and the company. However, in my exploration of my MM, they are not working. If I keep them on the pavement much longer, they too, will not see 10k miles. I think I'll save what's left for the long country drives, and get a set of the Pirelli's for my "around town" stuff, where traction is the focus. At least, a set for the back, they are cheaper than the drag radials, and safer to drive on in foul weather.
I AM wondering why the guy with the landau top didn't get a set of Vogues...
Mensrea, you should have known it wasn't my post, it's too short.

Sarge: Just remember, my posts are generally shorter than yours because I get paid by the word (or, as some say, the pound!).

I keep forgeting those of you who have the MM as a toy. You must understand that I have a hard time relating to such a fortunality.
I also don't know much about Mensrea, so....sorry man :)
If I had the opportunity, I'd probably buy 'em, maybe even toyo.....

I'll probably go with 255/50's when I wear out the stockers, but just FYI they are about 2% shorter than the 245/55's. Do the math:
((245*.55)/25.4)*2 + 18 = 28.61 inches while
((255*.50)/25.4)*2 + 18 = 28.04 inches
(28.61-28.04)/28.61 = 1.96% shorter
won't effect much
3.55's effectively become 3.62's
speedo becomes 2% optimistic (that's just help keep you out of trouble)
