I went to a local 1/8 mile drag strip last night to get a little practice launching with my new setup. This is the first time I've been to a track since going with the widened rear wheels and also since the s/c installation. The track is I-40 Dragway in Crossville, TN and I have read about it being one of the best prepped tracks in the area. I was not disappointed in that regard in the least. The starting line was nice and sticky, allowing me to preload the t/c to about 2000 rpm without spinning off the line (2500 rpm and it spun). My best of the evening was:

60' 1.933 (I've done better n/a, so I gotta get to work on this)
1/8 et 8.19 (I hoped to make the 7's, all 10 passes were below 8.5)
1/8 mph 88.4 (would be nice to make 90)

The locals were totally amazed at how fast the big sedan is. Lots of questions and thumbs up, along with some surprised losers in therir gutted race only cars with slicks and all the goodies.

BTW, I simply pulled in and dropped the air pressure to 25 in the rear 295/45-18 Goodyear F1-GS tires then hit the staging lanes without even emptying the trunk (floor jack, filled up organizer, spare tire, tools, etc) so I could have probably taken about 200 lbs out of the car and picked up another tenth.

Need to try some different shift points (I believe 2-3 is at too low rpm) and practice at some other tracks between now and SSHS5.
