Given $54,000

Now, I know very little about what it takes to make 1/4 mile screamer ("add a supercharger") being the extent of it, and even less about making a car handle and brake well, but if you were given $54,000, how close could you make a Marauder perform to this?

Man, I thought that I was spending a LOT of money modding my Marauder...but that is **** ridiculous!!!

P.S. Some MM.net members have their Marauders running faster and handling/braking just as well as that EVO for significantly LESS than $87,000...

Funny, I read the same article and also wondered how a well-prepped Marauder would compare... should would be a funny lesson!

I don't think it's real meaningful to look at the prices on those things though; most of those cars are real cutting-edge machines, and the newest always costs the mostest.

That innovation costs money... and then everybody else benefits from the lower price... so I say let 'em spend it however they like!

For almost $90K, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to build a heck of an MM :D But, I've gotta think you'd still have trouble in the twisties... Afterall, we still have about 1200lbs more car, compared to the little Evo. That's gotta hurt doing the roundy-rounds, but with the big budget, could easily be made up for on the straight aways.

Fast yes, corners well yes...but could you take a 1000 mile trip in it and still walk when you got out after the ride?

In a word... No.

The Lancer is not roomy, is not comfortable and is not classy. I test drove one (was bored and killing time). I got out of that silly little box, with my back as crooked as a 3 dollar bill.
