I have an 04 (with the mini spare). I can't get the damn thing mounted back in its spot! I checked the owners manual to no avail.
I searched on here and found this pic:

However when I do the same it won't stoy on, the spare can slide around.
Am I missing something fairly obvious?

If the hook part of the securing bolt is through the loop welded to the floor pan, and the black plastic top part with the nut molded in is cranked down super tight...nothing will move.

You just knew it, didn't you. Yup that seems to be the case. If it is hooked and scewed down tight it won't move. Screw it down have a beer and reflect that reading the instructions is not a guy thing. We never read them and when we do it always, alway, never works!

Make sure the hold-down hook is caught in the loop and reach up from inside the tire and turn the black cylinder by hand to tighten. It's a brain-teaser!

Hey Wes, can I have your old spare? That way I can put two of 'em on the front, for that cool racer dude look, when I dust that darned Charlie's britches in the highly anticipated grudge match at Merc's shootout this weekend.
