So am due for this now and am looking for opinions on the 45,000 Mile Service package that my servicing dealer offers for $300.

Here is a summary of what is included:
Oil change and lube
Lots of inspections
Standard Green Coolant System Service (I think this is a flush and fill)
Fuel Induction Service

Specifically I am wondering about the Fuel Induction Service. Is this worth a hundred bucks? Quote from the brochure "Using specialized equipment and products, we quickly and effectively clean your fuel injectors, intake manifold ports, intake values, and combustion chambers."

The Mercury Owners site does not mention the Fuel Service at all but does recommend fuel filter replacement. I am planning to have fuel filter replaced per this recommendation.

Also let me know if there is anything else that should be done.

Thanks for your input,
jta

What is "Lots of inspections?"

Oil change and lube
Lots of inspections
Standard Green Coolant System Service
Fuel Induction ServiceDude, the oil change and lube you can do yourself using synthetic oil (which the dealer won't) and a Motorcraft filter for about $35...DIY coolant flush for about $20. The fuel induction service is just another way into your wallet...if you've been using decent gas it's totally unnecessary. Just put a can of Techron in your tank twice a year ($20 total)

...and like Rider asked: "Lots of inspections?"

So far the total cost to DIY the dealer's list is $75...save your money.

Not worth it IMO. You can do the inspections yourself. Also, I believe most premium fuels usually contain some type of cleaner. I heard that a long time ago. They may have removed the cleaners by now.

Sounds like a lot of money for oil and antifreeeze change.

IMO that a lot of money for an oil and antifreeze change.

Also when they say "oil change and lube" they really mean just oil. Unless someone says something to the contrary, I thought we agreed the Marauder does not have any grease fittings so they can't do a chassis lube.
Just my .02 cents.

I don't change my oil anymore, my dealer does it for $34.95 every 3rd is free so it works out to less than $24 per change, The induction and injector cleaner I had done at 25,000 for $60, you don't need it, I had it done 'cause I felt like it.

I would have the tranny flushed out with new fluid (16 quarts) my dealer gets $130 for this, as far as the coolant flush. What does your dealer do??? Reverse flush?? or drain the radiator and refill???

Ask exactly how they do what they do. I spend money with my dealer that others probably would consider throwing money away but I always go to the same place and they know me personally and take care of problems for me that I would get a hassle at another dealer.

Having said that, I consider $300 too much for induction cleaning, oil change and coolant flush.

To the average guy, this sounds like something Scotty would tell Capt. Kirk. To guys who know what this statement is referring to, you know it is BS!

There is some good advise above. Save yer money.

Thanks all, looks like I will skip the Induction Service.

Like Smokie, I throw a little routine money at the dealer and they take care of me on the spendy stuff. So far I am way ahead.

I am just going to go for the oil change and radiator flush.
