A few weeks back I wrote a thread tittled 'Ladyhawke and I are on an Adventure' and I asked for you to guess where we were. Well we were in New Jersey looking at some Buick Gran Nationals. A week ago this past Saturday I went back up to NJ to pick one up. We got a good deal on it and it is in pretty good shape, has 52,000 original miles on it and needs some work, but drives very well and handles the road nicely. Thanks for those back roads on Saturday Mike.
I would like to thank Krytin for offering to drive 50 miles out if his way to check out an GN on Long Island for us. :bows:

Very nice car Gordon. Since those cars first came out, I've always like them! Looks good next to the MM. I can almost see a resemblance.

WOW!! That is sweet!!
Now you have to care for 2 black cars. Those turbo cars are fun to drive and knowing you in the next year all the minor problems will be resolved. Question, are you bringing the new Buick to the Shootout in November ?

Gordon and Chris ... Congrats :congrats: on the new addition to your family. Very sharp ride !!!

 It seem that big bad black cars just run in the family. I too, would consider having one of those beasts parked next to mine. I still have a model of an '87 GN on my desk at work.
It just gets better and better. And if I know Ladyhawke, she will be winning some trophies at some shows with that car before too long!

Gordon, now you and Chris have the same problem that I have.....not enough garage space!!!
SO.... which one has to withstand the rigors of the upcoming winter??
BTW....Really a sweet car. Turbo 3.8 Buick GN!

Hey Gordon, there are tons more aftermarket parts for the GNs than there is for our Marauders......to borrow your famous phrase:
"Resistance to modding is futile...join the collective." :D ;)

Mat I have already joined the 'turbobuicks.com' and have become a member of MAGNA. Only problem is they do not have the sense of humor we have over here. I have read some of the info on gnttype.org, very informative. If we decided to mod Heather will be our first contact, but I think we are going to get it to 'looking new' condition first.
There is a car show in Westminster this Sunday 'The Show before the Show' that we are taking it to, everyone cross your fingers. I plan on replacing the carpets, seat covers, floor mats, painting the trunk and eventualy the engine bay and replacing the cracked plastic pieces. Did I ever mentioned how much I love T-tops. :D

You won't love them when you're going over 110mph!!
The other message board is EXTREMELY informative...but it's so big, it's hard to get to know people. It's also very busy, there's always tons of people on. You won't get the same type of comfy feeling ohter there than you will over here. Have fun nonetheless!

Is it the famed GNX or the regular turbo GN? I am so envious. Good grab though. Now you have the best of both worlds...a Turboed GN and a S/C Marauder. The only problem not is which one do you drive.

Doubt it...they only made 547 total of them in 87 only. Unless Haggis has a really really thick wallet!

It is only the poor wimpy GN not a GNX. :alone: The only GNX I saw for sale was going for $50,000. Hey Marty how about a life time loan.

Marty, your Avatar changes pictures in unison with the sound of the second hand on my clock. My clock is quite loud, but wihtout fail...each time the second hand clicks, Martys Avatar changes pictures. Kinda weird really...
Haggis...I've heard of a GNX going for over 75K. Must have been in rediculous condition for a price tag like that.

But are they that fast for a tag like that? I saw one some years ago on Hickam AFB's lemon resale lote for like 20K. If I didn't want to go to jail for misuse of a Government travel card, I would have bought it.
