I think they look much better than the standard rim on the 06 GT:

Hey Dave, correct me, but isn't your new Mustang gonna have the stripe kit? I think, when you were getting ready to order, we were going on & on about what color/stripe kit we thought you should get. I like the wheels, BTW.....good choice, and worth the wait. :)

Yes, Mine will be Performance White with Ford Racing Blue stripes. That is the first pic of the new rims actually released and on a Mustang.

Looks like it, but what color is that? It doesn't look like Silver Birtch. Looks nice.
I am glad chrome Bullitt rims are now available through Fords. Looks sharp! The other GT ones don't look bad either. They look very similar to Crown Vic Sport rims, though.

You know, its deja vue again with a dealership again. First the clueless idiot salesmen at the lincoln mercury dealer that didnt know what a Marauder was, or any of the features. *****ing clueless.... We all experienced it if we dealt with the mercury dealers at all, jacket, what jacket?
Well, I stop in to see where the mustang was on the production sheet since I found out that the rims began being installed October 3rd. My car was on hold till they came out. Mind you, as soon as I walked into the Ford dealership I immediately noticed the sweet Red 06 Mustang GT convertable (with the newly released 18 in bullit rims im waiting for) in the showroom, right next to my salesmans desk. I tell him that I heard the new rim was in production now and where is my car! He procedes to tell me that those rims wont be out till december.... Thats when the Deja Vue hit me real hard....Ford/Lincoln/Mercury salespeople must all go to the same "How to look completely *****ing stupid to the customer" class at Ford training. Well...I continued, so you are sure the 18 in bullit gt rim wont be out till december. He replies....yep.
I tapped him on the shoulder and commented on the nice red gt next to his desk, snappy looking isnt it, he replies....
I then smacked him in the head with my mustang sales brochure, real hard, and pointed at the rims, to which he responds, ouch..that hurt, Oh....those are your rims!
Real brainiac. So at least he knows the rims are out now...

Not only that
The Crown Victoria is Ford’s traditional full-size, V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive American sedan. The Crown Victoria is built on a platform first introduced in 1979 and was updated in 1998 with a freshened appearance and chassis improvements.
The morons give the impression that absolutely nothing has changed since 1998, ignoring the biggest chassis improvements of all for 2003.

Dave, will these new 18" rims fit on the MM?
I tentatively say yes. It is my understanding that anything that will fit the 05-06 Mustang GT will fit the Marauder, and vice versa. In fact, a special edition Mustang GT will come from the factory on Marauder rims. I plan on swaping rims for fun between the 06 GT and Marauder to see what it looks like.

A Mustang in those colors and with those wheels will be a dream to own. The wait must be killing you but it is really worth it. Do you know how many people just pick out one from the dealer's lot? Neither do I, but I suppose that it is a great number:P . You have built a beautiful combination for the new Mustang and I congratulate you.

From what I was told, the offset is 50mm on the 05-06 Mustangs as well. They will be using the same exact Marauder rim on a special edition Mustang later in 2006, in fact, the Marauder rim is in the options section for the Mustangs. For fun, I want to see what the marauder rims look like on the Mustang, including the widened rim and 305 Nitto on the back of the Mustang for fit issues, and the 18 in bullits on the Marauder.

Is it confirmed that they will fit? If the deep dish effect is created by sculpting the ends of the spokes back they may.
I think the wheels from Ford are Forged. Are those from Mustang tuning forged? The price doesn't seem to reflect it.

Generally, forgings are stronger than castings. It depends on the design though. A good cast design will be "better" than a crappy forging design. That also means it has to be made properly. Since forgings are stronger than castings (generally speaking again), the section widths can be made a bit smaller. Castings are much cheaper in general which is why I believe the wheels from Ford are cast. Either process is fine. So, don't worry about which one is used as long as it was designed properly.
If you mean the chrome wheels would hold up better to corrosion than polished + clearcoat, that isn't entirely true. My dad was a wheel and tire engineer at Ford (retired now). He told me that a polished and clearcoated wheel always lasted longer than a chrome wheel in their corrosion testing. The chrome wheel would always rust first. Personally, I am a bit leary about aftermarket wheels since I don't know what tests they ran and what specifications they require. I'm more confident in Ford than an aftermarket company. So, if given the choice, I would personally chose Ford. That being said, I will soon have a set of aftermarket wheels on my Cobra. Ford doesn't offer anything I liked.

That may well be. Many of the aluminum wheels from Ford are forged though, such as our Marauder wheels.
Many aluminum truck and van wheels from Ford are forged, especially for 3/4 ton class up. As I recall, at least some of the wheels for the new Mustang are specified as forged in the literature.

Forgings tend to be stronger, also lighter.
A polished and clearcoated wheel is always easier to keep up, repair scratches etc.
Once chrome starts to fail, and it will on an aluminum wheel eventually, either from damage or corrosion, there isn't anything you can do to make it 'better' other than rechrome or replace.
If you are going to race on them, and they are castings, you want to make sure they are the best, flaw free castings you can get.
I'd go with forgings and a polished wheel.

I thought MM wheels were cast. I guess I should start paying attention. Its no surprise that Ford is reusing them on the Mustang. Forging tooling is expensive.

He told me that a polished and clearcoated wheel always lasted longer than a chrome wheel in their corrosion testing. The chrome wheel would always rust first. .
Joe, thanks for the joging my memory; I'll add some lore to the chrome wheel story.
When Joe Laura did the '93 Canary Yellow Mustang Feature Cars in '93, he insisted on chrome wheels. Since they had the Ford name on 'em there was a warranty requirement, and a lot of hand wringing hair pulling over the issue. Finally the job was farmed out to Grant, (the steering wheel folks) the only vendor who would guarantee they would meet Ford warranty requirements. Even at that, Joe was down on the assembly line color matching the chrome plastic center lug covers and picking out sets of wheels that matched.
I may be wrong, but believe this was the first time Ford offered an all chrome polished wheel on a Mustang, and even at that, it added $1,488 to the sticker price.
I'm sure, every time a design engineer wanted chrome wheels from then on, there was someone in the front office having a conniption.:banned:
Joe, I'm sure your dad knows about the Feature Car Wheels, and I'd love to hear what he has to say about them.
