I know this is probably not the place for this, but it's such a small item I was not sure it really needed to go in the wanted section.

I changed my rear axle from a 2.73 open to a 3.55 locking. I am trying to locate the little tag that goes on the axle housing that indicates it has a 3.55 locking rear axle. The build date does not really matter that much to me. If anyone has one they wish to part with, send me a PM.

Thanks!

You being a retired leo should be able to go to the State Maint facility in your area and requisition one off a P71...and I bet if your state has a cruiser bone yard as in MA, you could get one easy enough... RAM

There were actually only a couple of years the P71 had a 3.55 locking rear, so they are not as plentiful as you would think. I looked at several junk yards locally and all were 3.27 or 3.55 non locking. I was just thinking that since the Marauder had the 3.55 in it and a lot of owners went with a lower ratio, someone might have a tag they would part with. :)

I stamped mine with 4.10 and strapped it on the axle tube with a hose clamp. Prolly tons of them at Team Ford from when they install the upgraded gears/girdles. The tag won't fit with the girdle so I'm sure they just toss them. I'll check next time I'm over there unless somebody else comes thru first.
