you're just talking about a Mustang GT and not a Ford GT right? If it's the stang then you don't have to go a far as a S/C. I don't have any specs on the 05 stangs or I would tell you myself.

Well, in the hands of a capable driver, it looks like most stock auto Mustang GTs are probably low to mid 14s. Most manual GTs are running high 13s stock. Lidio got an automatic Mustang GT to 12.92 with some tweeking.

For our MMs, a tune, gears and CAI should give a stock auto a run for its money.

When you say run do you mean "in a straight line?"

add a stallion TC to the tune and 4.10s and you'll beat even the manual Mustang GT.

I have ran against the new 05 Mustang GT at least 5 times on several different tracks. My Marauder will out pace them in the first half of the quarter mile, but I have trouble with them on the top end. All of my wins have been measured in 10ths of a second. The GT’s out of the box are a fun affordable cars with better modification options. I will be taking a closer look at the new Mach 1 in the near future.

I think if you took the body off the Maruader you'd substantially improve the power to weight ratio :)

4.10s or 3.73 gears will do fine, a super chip will be needed, and a 3000 rpm stall torque convertor. There a number of choices for convertors. The Stallion, as mentioned before woud probably be the best but for a little less, B&M makes a good 3000 rpm convertor for our tranny. Also under drive pulley and a plus a cold air intake would certainly help. If you got the money, a cat back system from kooks would be a great addition as well. You don't need to get their headers, though they are expensive and very hard to have installed. Just get their cats to mufflers package. Should be around $800 in parts and $200-$300 for installation but it will give you a significant increase in power and great sound.

All together it should cost:

gears $200
Chip $400
Pulley $200
CAI $260
Catback system $800
Convertor $660
total $2520

Should be closer to $3300 including labor. You can do the CAI and chip install yourself and maybe the pulleys. But everything else, you'll need a pro to do. With this set up, you should be able to run high 13s.

I took on a Manual 05'er and he got me by half a length and 5 tenths. I add a Stallion and I got them all day. You can see my list of mods in my signature.

a friend of mine recently got one of the better times I've sene out of a manual 05 Mustang GT, completely stock went 13.289 @ 101.7mph.

My 100% stock, completely unaltered, showroom-condition 'Stang went 13.28 at 101.7x mph!!! It even had the jack, spare, floor mats, and some camping and softball stuff in the trunk! There may be claims of faster Stock '05's, but usually they take out everything, remove the air filter, etc. Mine is FACTORY!

I was there the same day I went 12s in my Vic.

I have seen people claim mid 13's in an stock auto 05 Mustang GT. I ran the 05 GT at the track, it is an auto and I didn't get a very quick time. i went on a midnight drag night and with nitto 555 street tires I only managed a 2.3 60' They are said to do far better. Yet the two WRX's I raced had only 1.9 60' if that tells you anything about the track lol. Was just wondering if a MM could hang with the 05 GT. :) Thanks for the asnwers guys. Iv'e never ridden in a MM, anyone here in Jax FL on this site with one ?
