I suspect that once you have it, you'll think of stronger words than "nice upgrade". You will love the car.

Hello Gre8one7 and welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net. The Marauder will add a grin :D to your driving enjoyment that just doesn't come with a Taurus.
Wasn't there a celebrity that used "The Great One" moniker?? Oh yeah, I think it was Jackie Gleason.

Welcome, now the fun begins! I went from a '97 Saturn SL1 to my MM. A slight difference in performance and in my ATTITUDE. No more Fred Flinstone feet while merging onto the highway.:D Have fun, and start modding!
Nice upgrade from the 96 taurus that i have now. :banana2:

Welcome & congrats on having such a great car at such a young age.
I didn't buy my first "fast" car until I was 21... it was a bone stock '85 Mustang GT that was probably no faster than the Marauder.
If you can resist it, I'd hold off on the mod-bug for awhile... you might have more will power, and probably more common sense than I did when I was 18, but there's plenty of power in a stock Marauder to get you in trouble.
Keep it clean, wax it often, and take your time getting acclimated to the power, weight, and size... it's a great package so be careful not hurt it or you!
AGAIN, congrats on your new ride!

Well i didnt buy it today...still going through the pricing lol. Its a 300a(hey i actually know something after being at this forum :) ). Black eterior with the black and chrome interior. I have a choice of a MM with 50k miles for $16k or a MM with 27k miles for $18.9(can get lower i think). Im almost 100% sure to get the 27k mile one. So far im pretty sure its stock :(. But the word supercharger kept coming up with one of the cars...are these stock?! Or is the guy just trying to fool me(i had to leave because i had to get to work...). I have to admit, after the first time i got in the car to now the third test drive i still smile. Love it when the dealer says "Punch it" and the roads are empty. No governor(spelling?) on the car it looks like :). Thanks for the welcome guys, pics will soon be here.

No factory supercharger, the salesman is smoking something. Stock program has the speed limiter set at something like 117-120. Aftermarket program removes speed limiter.

Well, looks like i will be buying one withing the next week lol, when i found 2 more marauders i had to check them out...but it might be as soon as tonight. What should my first mods be? The supercharger is well over my price range but the thing is, is it worth it? Or would nitrous be just as good. Ive been reading around and just wondering what would give me the biggest bang for my $. I loved it when the salesman told me to "Punch it" because "It will be your ticket". I did what he said and i dont think i have ever had a smile on my face so big :). I must say, im glad i am spending the extra cash on this car instead of the others i had been looking at. But what would YOU do to a stock marauder that you have a little bit of $ to spend on?

I added a 4:10 right away,
SCT Reinhart tune (chirps the tires nice)
Kooks full exhaust
PHP Reinhart Airbox
TA Rearend Girdle and studs (just in case)
Addco Front and rear...(do both at the same time, I did mine seperate...it was unusuall to drive loose in the front and tight in the back, now it is even and flat around turns)
In this configuration the car runs low 14's if launched properly
Mine is in the shop now getting supercharged, but I waited ...till my warranty ran out...didnt make sense to void it right outta the gate.

What should you mod first is a topic of debate around here.
Most would agree that a tune (preferably from a site supporter) and 4:10 gears will give you the nite and day differnece - biggest bang for the buck mod.
Then it is downhill from there....but is it a fun ride.
Enjoy making it your ride

But what would YOU do to a stock marauder that you have a little bit of $ to spend on?
I was in the same boat you are just 2 months ago. I bought a low mileage, totally stock Marauder that will be my daily driver. I had some extra money budgeted for modifications as part of the purchase. Also, I am debating on some upgrades because it is a daily driver and I will be supercharging at some point. Some of my modifications are based on it being a daily driver:
1) XCal2 tune - DO THIS!!! completely changed the driveability of the car
2) Cold Air Intake - slight gain, cool sound, and I got my JLT at a good price with the discount he was running at the time. I am not saying one is better than the other, but the price was right, it looks good, and he is a site vendor.
3) Trunk organizer - I am kind of anal and like to carry stuff in the trunk. It looks nice back there with everything hidden but still with me.
4) CVPI 16" wheels and dedicated snow tires - will be driving in the winter and this is a must
5) Alarm/Remote Start - again, see the winter stuff above and summers get hot
6) Tinted Windows - looks much better (personal opinion), keep interior cool and help protect. Just need a quality window visor now
Considering Doing next year:
1) Addco sway bars, Metco upper and lower control arms, and Watts link
2) 4.10 gears - not sure on this one yet. I know they would be fun, but still a little worried about gas mileage with how much I drive.
3) Kooks headers and full exhaust - for sound (stock sounds good, I want better) and for a little extra power when a supercharger goes on
4) New speakers and sub - someday, stock is fine for now.
And that is about all I would do except for the supercharger setup someday. Other than that, I plan on having as much fun with it as possible. Enjoy the new ride when you get it and welcome to the website. You will find a great group of people here. They have to be if they put up with me... ;)
