I would like to run the same size tire on all corners but the traction control freaks. How do you permanently disable it?

I don't think you can permanently disable it.....Others may know different??
You can simply turn it off every time you start your car.....and it may not go nutso with you??

I thought I read somewhere where you can get the computer reprogrammed where the TC if defaulted to off via the XCal device programming. True?

Unless a lot was changed for the Marauder, this is impossible to do via programming for the Panthers due to the ABS module being separate from the engine PCM. I was told that you can disable the engine management part of the TC via the PCM, but the ABS part is still active. I tried it on my Vic and both the engine management and ABS parts of TC still functioned.
As long as your rear wheels are the same size, TC will not engage. This is both a good and bad thing: If BOTH rear wheels break loose, as in a spin out on black ice, TC won't kick in, but it will slowly kick in as one wheel spins faster than the other during recovery.
From my experience, keeping the TC on is a good idea unless you are drag racing, auto crossing, or racing.

Thanks for all the info. It is more of a nuisance than a necessity. I don't drive the car in such a manner that would make traction control necessary. When I first bought the car, on the way home I thought the car was dying on the interstate until I saw the light flashing. I am replacing the tires on it that are WAY WRONG. They put 255/55's on all four. They are tall and dorky so next weekend four new 245/50's are going on. I guess I will turn off the T/C until a fix comes along.

OMFG! What a waste of $59.99
The Panther trac ctrl system utilizes a momentary switch connected to the Trac Ctrl switch lead on the ABS module. When you first start the car, the ABS module defaults to Trac Ctrl enabled.
Want to know how to set it to disabled as a default?
Short the two leads for the switch together, OR use a rocker switch that defaults to the leads shorted together. Shorting the wires together is part of the official TSB for disabling Trac Ctrl on CVPIs (part of a kit actually).
When you want Trac Ctrl enabled, just tap the switch again. This mod has been done ad nauseam for the Panthers. :burnout:

I have run mine down the strip with T/C on and off and there is no difference in the times. Of course I'm N/A and haven't had a problem getting enough traction in the first place. Now I have the widened rims with Nitto 555 Extereme Drag Radials just for the strip and I think I'll be set for when I get forced induction.
The only time I ever hit that switch is when I want to do a burnout. :burnout:

I also want to put the same size tires all around. Traction control means little to me in sunny Florida.
Silver 2004, please let us know how the tire swap turns out.
Thanks, Jim

Could you find the TSB or SSM for this, please?

Ok I got a '04 what size should I use for a FULL SIZE spare? I was going to use the 245/55. As a 235/50 would cause TC havoc if used in the rear. Correct????
Hijack done carry on.

I'm sorry, I don't have the TSB # handy. IIRC, it was for 98/99 model CVPIs that had Trac Ctrl (it was awhile back). The kit basically included a jumper for the harness and required you to remove the Trac Ctrl light from the I/P.
Find your trac ctrl button, pull it out (usually twists out), and remove the harness. if it is only 2 wires and the button is a momentary switch (meaning, normally open and switches only when you apply pressure to the button) then its the same as the pre-03 panthers. Shorting the wire together via jumper will disable TC.
