Funny note left on my windshield this morning...it reads:
If you coul keep your car from making so much noise when you leave early in the morning some of us who are still trying to sleep would appreciate it.
Some of the neighbors:bigcry:
Do you guys ever get complaints like this? :mad2: Stock exhaust and believe me I don't get into the throttle until she's on the highway and warmed up.
You guys have any humorous comments I can post on my windshield?? :D:banana:

It's not funny, and don't paste anything on your windshield; your car is NOT the neighborhood bulliten board.
The person (not neighbor(S)) who put this on your windshield is an idiot. Stick the note in a folder, you might need it later for evidence, and await further developments.
Don't respond in any way or escalate the issue from your end. It seems the dope had her bedroom window open due to the warm spell and didn't have the air conditioner on. As soon as it gets cold, she'll have the heat on and windows closed, ....end of problem.
If she chooses to escalate, then do the usual things to get even: You know, kill her cat, burn down her house .....whatever...:flamer:

Want me to describe your neighbor?
She's a mid to late 50's aged widow, who lives next door, and her upstairs bedroom window is next to your driveway. She has (at least) 5 cats or raises an exotic dog breed such as Afghans, or Bovious De Flanders, of which there are two. She's a large buxom woman, who might be retired, who spends a lot of time in her garden, and has a nervious high pitch laugh which erupts at odd times, and for no reason. .... she secretly wants you. ;)

This reminds me of a funny situation I used to have. A few years ago our youngest kid (maybe 2) had the bedroom above the garage. When I leave at 5:45am I would start my TBird SC with Borlas in the garage and got complaints as in waking up the little one. So......for awhile (until she got older and moved to another bedroom) I would PUSH the damn thing out of the garage in the morning before starting it up!! I'm glad that didn't last long. Jon

I think she want's you really Bad. Being your 36 and she is in her mid 50's she has to see you as a young stud. Send her a bottle of sleeping pills & when she is asleep put a For sale sign in her front yard.

The stock exhaust is TOO quiet. She must be sleeping in your garage by the rear tires. ;)
I would just start setting my alarm about fifteen minutes earlier each day. You know, you do have to be at work on time!

My wife complained that starting the MM in the morning shook the house. (garage is tuck under)
Then came the day I had open manifolds since I was going to drive down to the exhaust shop to have them bolt on the x-pipe.
After that day I have had no more complaints about noise.
I have, however, done a burnout in front of my neighbor's house at 6:45 AM when I left once. It was in response to their beer party which kept my wife and I up until 2-3 AM on a Tuesday.
Yes, I warmed the car up first.

I thought doing burn outs was how you warmed up the car?
No wonder my neighbors look at me funny when I run out to the car in the early cold morning air and do a quick burn out then run back into the house to finish getting ready for work.

If you could keep your car from making so much noise when you leave early in the morning some of us who are still trying to sleep would appreciate it.
Looks like you will just have to adjust your schedule to accomodate your sensitive neighbors. Just sleep in -- your boss will understand that this is necessary to maintain harmony in the community. ;) Maybe you could time your departure to the arrival of the trash trucks??
Do you guys ever get complaints like this? :mad2:
Nope ... and I don't ever recall reading anything here on the MM.Net boards in the last 2 years either.

As I said once before...when I piss off MY neighbor...he burns a tire.
It could be worse I suppose...;)
Good luck with that neighbor.
Even having 500 feet between houses apparently isn't enough to avoid some confrontations.
What is clear, that neighbor has a problem with you, be it your car or something else.

I'm just saying that even if I wanted to be noisy, I'd have to compete against all the pickup trucks and hot rods that the folks drive around here.

I live out in the country. My peoples are used to loud pipes. In fact every once in a while when it gets real quite, some of my neighbors or myself will walk out side and do a little shooting, just to break up the monotonomy-monotony-monnootmy...just to make some noise!
Mike sounds like my kind of guy, I'd like to help him with those ideas...
Here is another suggestion to help your neighbor remember to close her window at night...put something real stinky outside and near her bedroom window before you go in at night. you could even leave something rotten there for a few days...
Blast the stereo to drown out the engine noise.

I've given this a thought or two since I read the note.
I think a copy of the letter sent to all my neighbors as follows:
Dear "Some of the Neighbors"
My car's exhaust system is stock. As such it complies with all applicable federal and state regulatory body requirements. In short, I will not modify my car for one individuals requirements.
My car is not a public bulletin board. If you would like to discuss your issues you may do so in person. Just do not expect me to take you seriously.
A copy of this letter has been mailed to every neighbor in a 1 block radius.

I've kept my garage shut when cranking the engine. I know I will not make it through next summer without a complaint.
Man I feel for you guys. My neighbors are cool with the Marauder noise. They don't even complain when I uncork the headers on the 'vette about once a month just for the hell of it. My WIFE hates it, but she doesn't count.:D

Detroit recently began enforcing a law in my neighborhood that requires every third car to have the muffler removed. The previous law requiring every second car to blast rap music out the windows wasn't disturbing enough people.
