My MM was built 8-19-2002. What are some of the earlier built dates?

The sticker on your drivers door will tell you.
Mine says 6/02/02 on the sticker but, I've been informed by a friend here with access to OASIS that IT states 6/03/02. (Maybe it took them 2 days to perfect mine?)

Your dealer will tell you right over the phone if you provide the vin. Takes only a moment, and should be several days prior to the date on the window sales sticker, and corrospond to the date on the door jamb sticker.

My built date is: 8-23-02, thanks to jefferson-mo, just PM him with your vehicle VIN number and he'll do the rest. :beatnik:

300A-----Door sticker says 8/02 and not a specific date. Window sticker had no date.

The date on the window sticker is just the day the sticker and other paper work on the car's order was printed. The actal build date will be days later, I'm told it could be up to two weeks later.
The only way to get the true build date is from the dealer, or jefferson-mo

According to Oasis my 300A was 6/5/02. I took delivery exactly 21 days later. :)

On my window sticker I see 08 21 02 in the bottom right hand corner, but it's not labeled as a date. I'd go compare this to the jamb, but it's raining and the baby is outside tonight. Is this where you find it on the sticker?

my door sticker is 7-02-02 my window sticker said 7-15-02 . i took delivery aug 30 th.

WOW--I've probably got the widest margin from build date to delivery--build on door is 6/02--delivery date 11/02/02--with 320 miles on her.....still a pup! and still only 2886 on her

Door sticker says 5/02. Anybody know what the earliest build dates are?

An 05/02 build date would put you near the head of the line as one of the first. The "official Press Release" which was posted here some time ago showing supposedly the first off the line was dated 05/10/02 (the release I mean, not the first car).
I think Logan posted that his had the same date and he was one of the first owners. Certainly here.

You need someone (your dealer or someone with access) to enter your VIN# into the OASIS (Ford Motor Company Database).

there are some other post on this.
The only way to get the true build date is from the dealer, or jefferson-mo. You can PM him with you VIN# and he can look it up.
He works for FORD.
He posted before, that he doesn't mind doing it.

I was hoping I'd see one with a build date of 6/14/02. That's the day I took the tour of the assembly plant in St. Thomas Ontario where the cars are built. They were rolling off the assembly line like crazy that day. Lot's of fun watching them being built!

There is a sticker with a date (month,day,year) on the lower part of the motor, drivers side. Could this be the build date?

most likely the assembly date of the engine itself, which will not be the same as the car's build date

Hey seabreze, I see ours are just 9 days apart! What's your VIN last six? Would be interesting to see how fast Grand Marquis were being built then- mine is 663991.

7 23 02 is the date the order was processes and the sticker printed. Because the door sticker says 8/02 you'll probably find the actual build date is early August. Your dealer can tell you

Be more than happy to show you the car when I get it. Dealer says approximately 2 weeks after build date so it may be the 21st before I get it.
We will be leaving the 25th to drive the MM to Iowa. My mother-in-law recently fell and broke her hip. Her 83rd birthday is the 29th so my wife wants to visit her for her birthday.
The Marauder will get broken in very quickly as it's 1100 miles one way. I plan on taking back roads for half the trip out to try to vary the speed until I get a few miles on it.

dok, the dealer should be able to give you an web link and password to watch the progress of your car as it travels on the train from the plant. Ask them for it.

Just a note for the newer members here, we hashed this out last September. The MM began production at 600000, but VINs are not issued in a sequential manner specifically for the MM. I suppose that over time, one may associate the build date with a VIN, or, be able to detect an error because of that. But, there isn't any real sequence to the VIN and the DOB, other than they age (increase) simultaneously.
Any sequential MMs off the line are accidential, and if LM does what a lot of other mass production manfacturers do, they later intentionally disburse the sequential numbers to opposite ends of the supply chain.
BTW, my LM source said that the first MM was produced 10 May 02, and the first sold on 01 Jun 02. Total sales from 01 Jun 02 through 31 Mar. 03 = 4100 MMs delivered.

Build date was late 6/02. Made deal with dealer in Feb 02 to get the first one in Memphis or forget it. The L/M dealership then went "out of trust" and dealership was being run by Ford Credit who was looking for new ownership so my order got delayed by Ford because of dealership's financial problem. Thought I might even lose my $1,000.00 deposit and have to get one from another dealer. Delivery Date was 7/08/02. My MM NEVER saw the dealer lot. I had the Salesman pick it up as it came off the Train at the depot here in Memphis because I did not want it loaded on and then loaded off of a transport truck. MM went straight to the shop as I waited in the showroom.
